Re: Natural Nails Support Group HERE

I found that I need to help my nails from the inside first. I use Olly Beauty gummies (one a day) that have Biotin in them, but not so much biotin to cause tummy upset or interaction with Rx, I even checked with my elderly mom's cardiologist and they said, no problem. It will take consistency and about 60 days but your hair and nails will improve and not be so fragile and brittle. Also, make sure none of the "nutritional" base costs and ridge fillers contain formaldehyde or toluene. Those chemicals hurt the cuticle and nail bed. A bit of vitamin E (pure) around the cuticles at night helps, too. Good luck and best wishes!

I tried a biotin supplement and it made my hair so oily I stopped taking it. Go figure

Hi Beauties

I have natural nails.  I tried fake nails back in the day at the salon and at home with press on nails.  That actual brand :-)  Don't get me wrong, the fancy gels look great.  I still have not tried though.  Mostly because I don't want the upkeep.  So for that reason i try to keep my own nails looking good.

I have short nails that I clip and shape to a rounded square tip.  They look neat and I polish them with light colors to help hide chips etc. However, my nails always peel and break. No matter what brand of hardener I use.  I have tried TIPS, IONails, Perfect Gel Coat and they all help for a while.

I recently bought the Orly Nailtrition and the Nail Retouch. Nailtrition is a daily treatment to be used for a week and then a break for a week.  The Nail Retouch is a ridge filler.  I like both. My nails looks great.  I just hope it lasts.  I think next week when I take the break from Nailtrition, I will go back to the Perfect Gel Coat. The original pink is a fave of mine.

If you have natural nails please let me know your tips (no pun intended

I use Sallly Hansen Gel and it last with no chipping or peeling and I pick weeds with my nails. I use OPI clear coat first and then the gel, then clear coat again. I also have Essie Break Fix liquid in case a nail starts to break. Tha polish last over a week.  I do a lot of gardening and no gloves and it last. Nothing else I ever used did.
