Cranberries,   that OPI Java Mauve-A is so pretty.  Mauve has always been one of my go-to colors.

Today I have on Clinique's Different Nail Enamal in 'Hi Sweetie'.  It's a nice birght pink with a bit of blue undertone.

Hey girls!

Well, today I'm wearing Zoya's Talia. Zoya describes it as a turquoise and I get why that's how they describe it, but to me, it's more of a teal. At the very least, it's a very saturated turquoise. haha  I gotta say...I'm not in love with it. What?! It reminds me very much of Breezi, but it's not dusty.

I dunno...something about it on my skin tone just seems a bit....offf....anyway, here it is (and I wish it was the color that is portrayed in the pic):

Sally's  beauty  is running a half  off clearance  sale on nail polishes.  I bought 9 OPI polishes for 21.00 and change.

Some older, some newer, many I have had my eye on.  This sale runs through  Sunday.

It's really quiet in here - hope everyone is doing well.

I got an email yesterday about Deborah Lippmann's Genie in a Bottle, described as "an illuminating nail tone enhancer".  I'd like to see this in person, because it looks like a frosty purple color.  Not sure if it's similar to Perfect Gel Coat or not.

I've been thinking the same thing, Knit. Where the heck has everyone gone?

Unfortunately, I'm one of those who reacted adversely to a bad batch of polish base used by one or more of the indie makers. The base is manufactured by (as near as I can tell) a very reputable company. The maker I bought the polish from has been very open in providing information and is replacing polishes involved whether or not people have had reactions (many/most don't). I can't imagine  any company handling an unfortunate situation like this in a more professional manner and they will definitely get a chunk of my business in the future.

The problem apparently has something to do with the citric acid in the polish. The result of sensitivity is separation of the nail from the nail bed. Luckily, my reaction is relatively mild compared to the pictures I've seen. But I'm keeping my nails short and without polish while the nails involved reattach themselves and grow out. On the positive side, lots of oil, TLC and taking Andrew Lessman's Healthy Hair Skin and Nails is apparently working. My nails have been growing like weeds the past couple of months.

Hi Ladies, it looks like things have been quiet here.  I hope everyone is well.  We returned Wednesday from vacation and my fingers and toes needed some TLC.  This morning I had a manicure and pedicure with Zoya Marion. (it was one of the minis in a recent mystery box)  It seems to be similar to a Julep polish I received last summer.  As I've given most of my Julep away, I do not remember the name.

Have a great TGIF and weekend, everyone!

Re: Nail polish threads.

[ Edited ]

Hello Ladies! After I last posted I still wasn't feeling all that great so I decided to get a lot of rest and try to get better. I'm finally getting my strength back and should soon be back to posting again. I will catch up as soon as possible!

Today's mani is Daisy Know My Name by China Glaze. I thought I would regret buying it after watching JessFace video review. Of course, a bad review isn't going to stop me from trying a polish I already own. Today I wanted something bright and sunny. And that's exactly what you get with DKMN. It is nothing like the pic shows, the camera won't work for this color. It's a beautiful yellow that I can't describe. Not garish bright, but a perfect yellow.

I haven't been wearing neons as often as I'd like due to having to use a white base. Until now. Where as I usually use a white polish as a base, I used Put a Coat On! by OPI. I used two thin coats to get it opaque. For polish, I used one coat DKMN on my left hand (pictured), two DKMN on my right. The one coat turned out perfect, and it covers it completely. Two coats made it look horrible. Like a lighter version of egg yolk. Doesn't look like it came out of the same bottle.

Sorry about the lengthy post! On to the pic.

Snow!!!  I'm so happy to see you.   I'm glad you got a lot of rest and now are starting to feel better.  Don't push too hard, though.  Lots of good wishes to you.

Jupe, what a terrible experience.  I'm glad your nails are getting back to normal.

Lulu, your color is lovely.  So elegant.
