I'd almost forgotten about this thread. It's been ages since I've seen it. I enjoy seeing the colors everyone is wearing. My last manicure I really went wild. I'm wearing Zoya Lillian. It's pretty but it's so not me and these beautiful nails are not mine!

@muttmom - Good for you for going outside your comfort zone! I absolutely love Leslie. I'm guessing you liked it even better after you'd worn it a day or two and gotten used to having a new color on your nails.

Hello Ladies! Oh my gosh I have no idea how this new forum thing works D: So I went to the last post and hit reply? lol I'm so behind.
I am so glad to be back. I just got out of the hospital. I had a horrible cough for two weeks and at first thought it was just a cold or something. Then for a few days I couldn't eat and felt like I was going to pass out when I tried to walk, so I figured I'd better see a doctor. Turns out I had pneumonia, chronic bronchitis, and had went into septic shock. The doctor told me to call my family because he didn't think I was going to make it. And I felt like I wasn't. But I did and I'm out now, and I feel much better. I'm still a bit tired though and will be back so I can catch up with everyone!
Also, I got some of my Zoya Satins and I don't love them as much as I thought I would. They're kind of difficult to apply on the second coat. I'll do some swatches in about a week.

Snow!!! I'm so sorry you were so ill and so glad you're doing better. Welcome home (and back to the boards) after your hospital stay. Take it easy for a while, it sounds like you still have some recuperation to do.
I'm sorry the satins did live up to your expectations. I bet you can jazz 'em up with some glittery topper.
Muttmon, that's gorgeous color. I hope you're diggin' it.
Hi, Jupe and everyone! I hope you're having a colorful day!

Wow, you've had a tough time. I hope you are back to good health.
As for the Satins by Zoya; I got suckered into buying the entire collection. My nail tech HATES applying them. (and I have no luck trying to use them on my own)

@Snow Owl - Whoa! Snow, sepsis is SERIOUS. An ex-boyfriend died from the compliations a few years after we broke up and someone else I know almost died about a year ago. I'm sure glad you got to the doctor's in time. You can become an expert on navigating this board while you're recuperating.
When you decide to polish your nails, be extra careful to have good ventilation. Breathing in all the polish and remover fumes probably isn't high on the list of things you should be doing right now.

@lulu2 & @Snow Owl - It's too bad about the formulas of the Zoya Satins and summer collection. I'll have to swatch them on my nails once I receive the six polishes from the current promo. I've gotten much better at dealng with most formulas. But I also can cut myself a bit more slack than a nail tech who is being paid to provide a flawless manicure.
I'm not sure if I've worn any of the Zoya Satins, but matte polishes in general tend to dry on the quick side and don't take kindly to more than one or (maybe) two passes over any given portion of the nail.

It's been a while since I've posted what I'm wearing. Today's mani is China Glaze UV Meant To Be. Originally I was going to top it with a red/white/blue glitter topper in honor of the 4th. But looking through me collection I came across an oldie, Colors by Llarowe Home Is Where The Heart Is. It's described as: "Clear blue tinted base with turquoise, green and blue shifting flakies with green to blue to purple to pink shifting shimmer."
I found this image. Base polish is not the polish I used, but it gives a general idea...except that my mani leans more green/aqua.

Need to share a story with you ladies last night I sat down to do my 4th of July mani and to my surprise I had help from my son's Conure and Cockatel. Both of them were such help they were very interested in what I was doing sat on my shoulder pulled on my earings, tried to bite the brush, but I did finish probably not the best but it was fun.

What a sweet story, Txrose. I did a search to see what a conure looks like. I 've seen them before but didn't know what they were called. It's great they had fun watching you do your nails!
