Knit - I have D'Oh, but I have yet to wear it! Would you like for me to compare it to BEE-U-Tiful to let you know how/if they're different? Your nails are SO nice!!

thank you bella, that would be great! and thank you - I keep them fairly short, otherwise they will tear. And I'm a fanatic about applying cuticle oil and cream at night and keep some at my desk at work. I think that helps alot.

Also, can you share how you do your dots? I saw a special nail tool at Sephora for that. Is that what you use?

Knit - I swatched the 2 yellows side-by-side and as you know {#emotions_dlg.laugh}, D'Oh! is a bright yellow and BEE-U-Tiful is what I would consider a pastel yellow; it has more white (?) in it than D'Oh! and is much softer. Does that help at all?! {#emotions_dlg.lol} Yeah...I don't win any prizes for descriptions - haha! The dotting tools I use are actually the Martha Stewart embossing stylus set! Every time I went to Sally's to pick up some dotting tools, they were always sold out, so I took my happy a** to Michaels and bought THIS. Each stylus has 2 different sizes and it works really well! It might be a little heavier than a proper dotting tool, but I gotta work with what I got! {#emotions_dlg.w00t}

Wow! You all have inspired me to start doing my own nails again! I was getting gel manicures every few weeks but my nails grow so fast-my nails looked grown out after only a few days. I am using Deborah Lippman "Hard Rock" as a base coat and "Addicted to Speed" as a top coat and that seems to work pretty well. I tried using Perfect Formula as a base coat but my nails came out too "gooey".

This may have been discussed already, but has anyone tried the Julep Plie Wand?

Snow - I hear ya on the dreading summer thing! I'm not looking forward to it, either! {#emotions_dlg.sleep} Hey...maybe we could get a group discount to Iceland! {#emotions_dlg.lol} Can you believe my husband asked me if we were going to turn on the heat?! I told him..."um....noooo." I have been Googling images for easy Memorial Day manis and haven't come across anything that has knocked my socks off. I might do a red/white/blue mani that I got from The Daily Varnish. Here's mine from last year...don't judge:

4th of July mani 2014

Safre - Yay...welcome to the thread! Wow, I can't relate to nails growing fast - heck, I can barely relate to nails growing...at all! {#emotions_dlg.lol} I have not tried the Julep product, but maybe someone else has.

thanks, Bella! a softer yellow is what I'm looking for, so I'll check out BEE-U-Tiful. Thanks again for comparing! Cute patriotic mani from last year!

Hi safre, I have not tried that Julep produt. I have Perfect Formula too and like it on it's own. It doesn't work well for me either as a base coat.

Woke up this morning to our furnace going on, it's been so cold in the mornings here. We keep having frost warnings, so we've been holding off on planting much. Hope everyone has a nice holiday weekend. Stay safe!

Knit - You're so welcome! I hope you're able to find the pastel that you're looking for! Hope you are having a nice weekend, too!

So, after going a day or two without polish, I just finished my Memorial Day mani. I don't love it (I should have used a smaller dotting tool), but whaddya gonna do?! {#emotions_dlg.w00t} I used all Zoyas: Purity (white), America (red), Edie (blue dots), Sunshine (blue PixieDust) and Trixie (silver).

Knit-Chick, D-oh is a pretty yellow and I think it looks fine on you in your picture. I haven't looked at the wet n wild polish lately and need to do that. That other set bella had I haven't seen at here close to me. There's a larger city a bit farther away and it is an all day thing to shop there but I need to make more frequent stops at the drugstores.

Safre, I have not tried the Plie Wand. I only got one box from Julep and the first polish I tried was horrible so I cancelled. I can't even find that bottle of polish, or the other two that came with it. I think it is in my closet somewhere and will find it when I get around to cleaning it out again.

This is Poole It Together by Ginger + Liz. I found two colors at ULTA for $3.49 each. I heard of this polish a few years ago and thought I may try one but never saw it in the stores. With them being on sale I decided to get both since I do like the colors.

So I did my mani last night, took pics and uploaded it today. Right before I got on here I decided to look up Ginger + Liz and found out they had their attorney send a cease and desist letter to a nail blogger. The original posts have been removed but you can read a bit about it Here and Here and Here. Looks like that happened in 2010. I'm not sure what happened afterward, or if I'll buy any more from this brand. I need to do more reading and see if there's anything else about it. After all, the posts were removed.

I will say the formula is great, and easy to apply. I had slight VNL (visible nail line) with the first (thin) coat, and opaque with the second. I, myself, did three thin coats with Seche Vite top coat. Will post back with tip wear and/or chipping, if any. If you don't mind the VNL, you can get by with one coat.

If this is private label by Diamond Cosmetics, it is a good polish as far as pigmentation and application. And for around $2 I would definitely buy more colors if it wears well, so I need to get a hold of one to try.

Snow - That's a really pretty color and it looks great on you, but my gosh...talk about drama! How can a nail polish company pull something like that?! Since when is it NOT ok to compare one polish against another?! I don't get it! Seems like there's always somebody stirring the pot in the nail polish community (at least, on YouTube). {#emotions_dlg.glare}
