@SilleeMeeI'm just highly conservative when it comes to some of these light masks out there now, with some that make the skin feel rather hot (as I've read) and any that may cause redness I even see on here. I dont want any type of device that warms the face. But I did buy the CurrentBody skin mask, the OG model recently. A TSV, mine came with white silicone "goggles" but in the photo on Q it was pictured with black goggles? Odd mine were so different. This one is not the series 2 model that costs more but I was going to buy it as I did much reading about series 2 and many reviews scared me off and also many said it was super too bright almost intolerable. Mine also can be so bright (w/o those insert goggles on) but the series 2 gets warm and goes deeper I read. No thx on that. I'll just use the OG Current Face mask and see how it goes - my skin is good, just thinning as I shrink with age :/ Just wanted to try it and see. Have no other face toys lol. It does get a tad warm and I'm fine with that. I can't stand the way I can't get my face entirely on it..it's very non-user friendly so I must hold it against my face for better coverage for 10 mins. I'm sitting long anyway with a bad knee so no biggie. I have dry eye disease and read lot prior to buying and this one doesn't exacerbate it thank goodness but still wonder about the eyes as it's bright even with the silicone insert goggles lights get in as I press the face mask on. I could NEVER wear it without those! Then I still get "welders flash" after taking it off for a few mins. Wonder if anyone else has this problem. I'll still use it since it's a mild mask unlike some others I've looked into. Good luck and best to others who are not a scardy-cat like me and like their LED masks. I think we all should be careful with strong LED masks heated feeling and any increased redness. I'm sure it's fine, you know so much and ty for all you posts! Not on too much but do like to see your input on many things skincare related.

@Jk9 wrote:@SilleeMee I just wondered if you had ever tried using the NIRA ON your lips? I didn't see anything on their website about using the NIRA laser to build collegen in the lips (not around the lips). I thought about trying it out on a low setting to see what happens but just wanted to check and see if you know anyone who has actually used the laser on the lips. I think several of us tried using the Red Light therapy on our lips with minimal results.
@Jk9 - I wanted to jump in and share that I use the NIRA Precision. When I tried it directly on the lips, I think it made them worse. It's been awhile but I somewhat recall some tenderness and increased wrinkles. When I stopped, they returned to normal. After that, I focused on the lip rim and that's improved some, but no miracles either. I still have some lines even though I'm faithful.

Red light masks are designed to not make your skin hot so whatever warmth you are feeling is most likely from your face being enclosed by the mask where the warmth from your skin gets trapped. The red lights inside the mask are not capable to produce heat b/c they are LED lights, not laser lights where laser lights are designed to get warm and work by heating the underlying layers of the skin. The fundamental principal of how skin lasers work is based on heat. LEDs used in masks are not the same thing as laser lights. LEDs are known to be cool, not hot or warm.
The eye shields for your red light mask can be black or white. The color of the shields doesn't make any difference. I don't use those eye shields on my CurrentBody Series2 mask. It's not an issue for me and I do not believe there is a threat to my vision when I am using my mask w/o them.

I agree with @SilleeMee that the LED masks don't heat the skin and any warmth is just from wearing the silicone mask. I use the first Current Body mask (bought before the second version) in addition to my NIRA Lasers. The lights don't bother me either.
@JeanLouiseFinch thanks for the info on your Preecision lip trial. I will update on how my lip adventure goes. My lips are dry anyway, so may be hard for me to see a difference there. Hope for some collegen stimulation. I've thought about lip fillers, but I don't like the way they usually look so wanted some more natural enhancement of my lower lip, which may not be possible.

To anyone, please advise? Should I send back my Currentbody face mask the OG model and get this NIRA Pro+ as it sounds quite good from the posts and I like how that one has control over it in hand as my new from QVC CurrentBody has me holding it and molding it to my face the whole time, it's not a good fit. I can deal with it but should not IMO. Thx!!! Will pop on back here late to check if anyone gives some input
* PS* I'm feeling like a newbie here lately this when pops up each time I try to post anything lately... arghhhHere's what it says:"Your post has been changed because invalid HTML was found in the message body. The invalid HTML has been removed. Please review the message and submit the message when you are satisfied."
Using both devices, the mask and the NIRA alternately, benefit each other. If you can swing it then keep your mask and use it in tandem with the NIRA. I do and I think my skin looks very good for being 70yo.
Most skin lasers, like the NIRA, are designed to do 'controlled damage' to the skin. In other words the laser light causes the skin to react to laser energy (heat) by producing collagen. Otoh, red light led masks, like the CB one you have, are designed to heal/repair the skin by stimulating the skin at a cellular level where the red light causes the skin to boost it's energy levels to help maintain youth by increasing metabolic levels. @mimi5775 I totally agree with @SilleeMee and recommend using both devices. I use them both because they are developed for different reasons as @SilleeMee described. I use them both every day and my skin has improved.
I have the Precision, Pro and Pro+ NIRA's. I thought my Pro had died, but it started working again after I ordered the Pro+. I would have the Pro+ if I only had one NIRA,

@SilleeMee Can't thank you enough for all your replies!. I had read about what you said but hearing it from you and all just makes sense as you have these and experienced them. I like to hear from a real person.
I will trade in my QVC for series 2 now. I find the OG VERY cumbersome to the point I'm ready to send back asap..non user friendly! I have a severely bad chronic bursitis right shoulder so hard to hold it up on my face to make contact - poor design IMO. Series 2 looks more molded to the face as I see.
I cannot reply to all as I am on my large PC not my Apple ipad as use that always due to the auto voice notations. Makes my life easier!. Love it.
So if this series 2 doesn't get hot or real warm as you and others said I can close my eyes or even put 2 pennies over them to completely cover, laying down of course lol due to my light sensitivity. Series 2 looks more user friendly and looks like it just may be better for my 68 year old skin. Again Ty for you for all helpful succinct posts and others too-very kind to take your time to help me. I will get back and reply to others who've helped me as well! Must try to get to the forums on my ipad so I do not have to type. Have a great weekend

@Jk9 wrote:@SilleeMee I used my Precision on the first light on my lower lip last evening. No adverse effects so far. Going to see what happens....... Also think I'll send the question to NIRA and see what they say. My Pro+ is finally out for delivery today.
Maybe you should check with Nira CS before using it on your lips. If, for example, someone is prone to cold sores, that might activate them. Also, lip tissue is pretty delicate regardless.
