I have used EltaMD spf before, but was intrigued when this newer one came out. I received this 3 wks. ago and wearing it every day to give it a fair review. EltaMD UV Restore Broad Spectrum SPF 40....tinted or untinted ((100% physical sunscreen). ***The tinted was too dark for me and exchanged it for the other.
The newer incarnation of this spf is the "restore". It has antioxidants, helps restore sun damage, ginger root and other ingredients for smoothing skin & improving dark spots. It has squalane for moisture...list of ingredients and what they do continues. I purchased mine on dermstoredotcom, but avail. wherever EltaMD is sold. $38.50, but most sites have deep discounts on skincare now.
It is not oily, although moisturizing and goes on smoothly under makeup.

I just checked it out on Derm Warehouse and it sounds interesting. I signed up for their emails and got 20% code. I may have to try this. Thanks for posting!

I use a drugstore brand # 50 sun block that costs about $9.
I don't need over-priced items that claim to 'restore' skin. Good grief!

No I have not. I'm not fond of using physical type sunscreens. I prefer chemical sunscreens and I wear those over a vitamin C serum for the antioxidant boosting benefits of that under the sunscreen for better UV protection.

I used to use EltaMD tinted physical sunscreen mostly on my ski trips as an all-in-one and loved it. But, then they changed the formula and it was slimy and the color was too dark. Since you say this one is too dark for you, I'm sure it would be too dark for me too. I'll probably just stick with the Neutrogena.

@Icegoddess If at all interested, it does come in untinted. I wear my Neutrogena for everyday when dog walking or hanging around. When going on errands, I wear the new one since it's faster/easier not applying moisturizer first.

I have heard good things about Elta. I use Coola and very happy with it.

I'm a big EltaMD junkie and have been using their sunscreen for years. I started out using the EltaMD Clear but my skin has become drier as I've aged and I moved to the EltaMD Daily instead. While both of these facial sunscreens aren't mineral-only sunscreens, I have no problem with either one of them (Most chemical sunscreens tend to sting my skin.). I was really intrigued by this new offering from EltaMD especially because it was all-mineral and I ordered it as soon as it become available but, I have to say, I don't really care for it. It feels thick and makes my skin feel dry as the day wears on. I actually went back to the Daily sunscreen and am much happier with it.
