I think it takes about 6 months to start to see a difference with Retin A. Of course, this is assuming that you were using sunscreen the entire time or else you may well see a negative effect.

My hands, at 59, don't look it. I wear gloves for dishes, cleaning, gardening etc. When I use my Olay Scrub/Peel I also do that on my hands at least once per week in the shower. I have no particular favorite hand cream or lotion, but right now I am using Gloves In a Bottle that I get on-line. Some drugstores do carry it. I like a cream/lotion that will last through at least one hand washing! Sun screen is a must too.

I've been using Hand Restore from Skinn Cosmetics on ShopHQ for about 6 months and think my hands look noticeably better. It has a slight bleaching effect but mostly makes the skin appear to be smoother and very soft. I use it on the backs of my hands only 2X daily.

Exfoliate your hands a couple times/week. Slather on a thick emollient like Aquaphor or a more natural non-petrol jelly like product. Wear white cotton gloves to bed a few times/week and you'll see a difference.

I also put Retin A on my hands. I don't do it each night but I put it on my hands and feet. I'm thinking with sandal weather it might make a difference.

I think it will make a difference over TIME....so don't give up.

My hands definitely show their age. I am such a tom boy and only wear gloves while gardening. I think the problem with aging hands is there is no longer any "fat" under the skin. I found that out when I suffered a significant injury last year and the skin on the top of one hand was torn and pulled back and all I could see was bones. It was very scary. My dh was in emergency with me while they fixed me up and he said, "gosh I didn't realize how thin your hands are". I have long fingers and throughout my youth, everyone said how beautiful my hands were and how I could have been a hand model. At near 70 ~ if they could see me now. LOL
