Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

I had a small problem with packaging, when I first started using Skinn. I emailed them and received a reply and excellent resolution within a couple of days. Maybe you should try the email route.

I had excellent luck with email too. I contacted them about the increased shipping & Handling. I told them we need more FREE shipping or reduced shipping at the least!

I received a response the next day from a lady who said she was Dimitri's niece. She said she does not follow the QVC blog!

So, it's best to reach her via email.

Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

I had a bad reaction to something from skinn and on the advise from wonderful lady's on this board, tried cortisone cream and benedril , it cleared right up. It was a pretty bad burn on my chest and neck.

Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

After reading all these comments I guess I don't have a leg to stand on complaining that his brushes fall apart while cleaning them. I surely won't be purchasing them anymore. I tried to post on his facebook page but my post wasn't accepted and it was a nice post too. Wasn't mean in any way telling him about my broken brushes.

Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

There are four products of Skinn that I really like. I plan to keep using them. A few months ago he had a TTV and I ordered two kits of it since it looked and sounded so good. I used it ONCE and my face was red and burning. I washed it all off and sent both kits back and will only continue to buy he other products of his that I like. I was using a Dermappeal and had no problem with it but the last time I used it my face did burn so I just threw it out. The jar was half way used. I won't buy that again even tho it didn't bother me before.

Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

i have a few jars of DermAppeal that I received in kits that I purchased in the past, I can't stand the stuff. It doesn't burn my skin but whenever I used it, it made my eyes water & burn, even though I didn't put the product near my eyes. With summer & sandals coming, I plan on using it on my heels & feet to help get rid of rough skin.

Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

Well, I sent an email yesterday and low and behold I finally received a phone call from 'a higher up in the company'. Gee, it only took 8 months to get answers. He apologized for no one getting back to me and told me that's not how they operate. Hmmmmmm, I've known several people who never got return calls. I told him that I purchased a lot of skinn products and he told me to send them all back and he would give me some money back but not for everything. He didn't give me any indication what it would be. I told him my face is ruined and any product or makeup I put on my face burns and makes things worse. To tell you the truth, I was quite surprised by his conversation with me but I can't or won't use any of the products, so I guess something is better than throwing the products away although they are still still sealed and have never been used. I have to admit I will never use any of Skinn products again and I've been using them since his Parthena days.

On 5/17/2015 Luvtoshopathome said: Ok ladies I started this thread on March 15th and since then I have been calling Dimitri's CS at least twice a week about what that DermaPeal did to the skin on my face. I have threatened to report them to the BBB, go to Consumer Affairs also to sue them because for 9 months parts of my face are still red and burning. I don't even leave the house like I used to do because anything I put on my skin burns so much I'm afraid it may be doing more damage. When I have to go out, any concealer or makeup burns. I've left messages for his sister and she doesn't return my calls either. I called ShopHq CS at the time it happened and they said they were going to make a report, never heard a thing back. Three weeks ago I called Evine's Presidents office and the woman said she would contact them and they would definitely call me. Well, I waited and waited and I never heard a thing. On Thursday I called back the Presidents office and spoke to the same woman and she was shocked to find out that no one contacted me. She said she would contact them again and if I don't hear from them by Tuesday or Wednesday, then I should just go ahead and do what I feel necessary. On Friday I called Evine and asked for the testimonial line phone number, which I called. I spoke to the person who interviews the customers before she passes them on to the producer, so I told her my story. She was very sympathetic and said she couldn't believe that any company would treat a customer that way especially since I had been buying from Dimitri since he was at HSN and I told her I have not watched one of his shows since this happened. She took down all my information including my name and phone number and was going to give it to the producer of Dimitri's shows and she hoped that Dimitri would himself or have someone from his company call me. I am so upset over this. I always had good skin but loved DermaPeal and used it for years especially when I didn't get enough sleep. Now I am stuck with 4 unopened jars and 2 drawerfuls of his makeup, lip plumper, etc. which I will never use again. All I can say is shame on his company, this is no way to treat any customer with a serious problem, or any problem.

OK..so after reading this thread all I can say is that I think that if you were face burned to the point of not being able to leave your house, you should get a lawyer and sue! I will say your case may be hard to win knowing how many people have allergic reactions to many things sometimes YEARS later (my mother developed an allergy to aloe at 60 years of age and cannot have any aloe touch her skin..it makes her turn beet red and almost blistering looking...this came she thinks from drinking an aloe drink in the early 1980's but no one ever truly knows where allergies develop) I have used D's dermappeal for over 2 years with no issue (I know the menthol affects many here and if you know strong scent/menthol is a irritant,it is best to stay far away from this product!) I am sorry your complaints have been lightly regarded but if you can't put any skincare or makeup on 6 months (6 months!!!!!YIKES!) then I would have sold my leftovers on Ebay and called it a day...what exactly are you expecting?what do you hope is the best resolution to this most unfortunate situation? as far as legal aspects.how can you even prove it was this product that caused this irritation? Do you have definitive proof it was dermaapeal? have you changed your diet or vitamin regimen? Just saying with your threats of calling the BBB and getting a lawyer...sounds a bit extreme to me and perhaps your best solution is to see a dermatologist ASAP... just sayin'

Re: My Terrible Skinn Experience With DermAppeal

ITA with Krissy. 9 months after using the product and your skin is still red and burned. You feel like you cannot go out in public it is so bad AND YET you have not spent a single dime to see a dermatologist for this problem????
