Oh yeah, Nordstrom’s Annual Anniversary Bash for cosmetics was a real snooze fest! A real nothing burger.

I haven't seen testers of things like eyeliners or lipsticks since the pandemic.  Nor would I want to.  It would be just my luck someone with pink eye or something tried an eyeliner on their actual eye instead of their hand.

I agree with this. How does one safely test an eyeliner? A lipstick I could see being tested by using a clean swab on a tester tube that is kept behind the counter. But I wouldn't put anything on my eyes or lips that is not sealed.

And they will no longer give you the sample atomizers filled with something to try. Neither my Nordstroms or big Sephora give samples any longer. This is in Milwaukee.

Thanks for mentioning this, as these would be the closest stores for me to be able to shop at when we're up in the Milwaukee area for shopping.

It's too bad that the stores aren't doing this.

I'll try and buy what I can on-line now regarding cosmetics for example, because I'm finding many times that the stores don't have the inventory available for what I'm looking for in the stores, anyway.

@Bellini13

Back when I used to go to the mall, I would spray a perfume I was interested in and go do my shopping.  Might be an hour and might be three hours.  So the SA refused to spray the TF perfume on you?  Did they have samples out on the counter?

At my Walmart, you're free to sample the perfumes (g).  I'm an  hour+ away from any decent shopping.  Actually more.  An hour from the north side of town.  All the good shopping is in the ever expanding south end.  Thank goodness for online shopping.

If you want to sample a lipstick or eyeliner whether it’s Ulta, Sephora, or department stores they always spray alcohol on it and sharpen the eyeliner and best yet scrape from the side of the lipstick as most take from the top. I like expensive lipsticks and I really need to see the color on me.
