With Rogaine for Women, or Wen Tea Tree, it's my hair.
In addition to trying these products, I would also suggest hairmax laser comb before I invested in a wig. I don't currently have thinning hair but if this happens to me I would definitely try other alternatives before wearing a wig. My sister wore a wig because of losing hair from chemotherapy. That is quite a different circumstance than hair that is naturally thinning.

Are you wearing your hair in ponytails or braids? That can cause hair loss.

And even though you have been to many doctors, and you say you have thyroid problems, has anyone ever checked you for anemia? Not one MD checked me as I went from MD to MD about my hair loss. It was a nurse practitioner who caught it. 3 transfusions later, and about 6 months time all my hair returned. It's a simple blood lab test. Check your records.
By the way, when I saw you spelled receding with reseeding I just thought maybe there was a new hair growing technique I had never heard of.

I've read low iron causes hair loss. I washed my hair with T-Sal this afternoon and it feels great. It is full of volume and my waves like it. It didn't smell very good, but not real bad either. It actually feels like I have more hair. I didn't use any conditioner or treatment.

My hair started thinning in my 30s. I had a biopsy and was told it was hereditary hair loss. I used expensive minoxydil from my dermatologist for a few years, and tried the Hairmax. Neither helped. It turned out I also had undiagnosed hypothyroidism. My TSH was around 5, which many Drs. and labs believe to be normal. The normal range is actually 0.3-2.5. My hair has slowly gotten better. I also take the Lessman supplement with biotin.

Kind1too: Just saw your questions. I use Kirkland generic 5% foam from Amazon both AM and PM--cost is much less than it was. No side effects. Use on either wet or dry hair. No residue to speak of. If I want to use other products for a special day, I just skip one AM treatment. I usually just use my regular products over the rogaine, but the rogaine can reduce the curliness if my hair is long. Both the rogaine and the biotin are on advice of my derm. It took about 4 months for significant growth, but well worth it. My best to all of you with this issue. As I said, it's a "pixxer".

Karen, what about the shade of the new growth? My hair is white and I like it. I'm not sure if I heard that w/Rogaine, et al, the new stuff came in darker?
And where do you get the foam? I'd prefer not to use it, but if I must... :-)
EDIT: Okay, I see what you use and where you get it (I think Kirkland is a Costco brand, so I might be able to pick it up there).
Let me know about the color -- thanks!!

That's interesting, PuppyBreath. You never even hear anemia in relation to hair loss problems. Thanks!

I wear wigs. If they are too hot for you in the summer you can wear just top pieces if you have enough hair to attach them or you can get the integration pieces and blend your own hair into one. The integration pieces have big silver dollar holes to pull your own hair through and are much cooler.
