Re: My Hair Makeover

[ Edited ]

Great move @bmorechick!  Changing up hair color & cut feels so good, doesn't it?  Especially, if you've had the same look for a while!

I recently changed up my color, too.  I've been vibrant red for so long, so I went for what I call a cinnamon red, kind of like a warm brown with hints of red.  My esthetician said, "wow, it brightens up your face so much".  Now, I've decided to grow it out since I've been wearing it short for a long while.  Of course, long on me may be just above the shoulders.  I have no desire to be Rapunzel at my age.

Enjoy your new look!

Glad you love it!

I had about 5 inches taken off about 2 weeks ago and can't wait till it starts growing back!

I like shoulder length hair on me, I don't consider that long at all.

I've had long layers and now my hair is the length of what my layers were.

My fault, went to a new stylist and told her not to hold back on removing some length.  Usually when they cut, it's only a half inch or so.  I wanted more than that, but not this short.

I woke up in the middle of the night a couple of times hoping it was only a dream, but no, my hair was nightmare short.

Short hair looks good on some people, but I don't feel comfortable with it.  I hate when people say it looks cute.

I had women at the salon saying how beautiful my hair was when I sat back in the chair after it got shampooed and she was combing it out.

She turned me sideways and cut, cut, CUT away.  When I felt the scissors on the nape of my neck, my heart sank.

When she turned me back to the mirror, the other salon workers wouldn't even look at me.  Too scared.

Then she went on to blow out my hair in a horrible looking 'bob'.

I'm not a 'bob' kinda woman.  So that'll never been seen on me....and believe me, it's cuuute on many a woman, but not this one!

It'll grow back, I'll just continue to get the half inch cut off from now on!

@Lucky Charm  Oh wow.... I had that happen a few-years ago. I feel your pain. Sending hair growing vibes your way!

@SurferWife   Oh yes ma'am it sure does.  That cinnamon red sounds beautiful but I believe would be too much of a change on me since I went from light brown (natural color) to medium brown when those ugly greys started to slide in through my strands.   This color is different, but like I said not in your face red which I know I can't do.

Wow that's a leap from that short to longer!  My hair used to be really short when I was in my late 30's.  But it seems as I age, I need something soft to frame my face.  The short hair on me is so severe - I look like a Mr. Instead of a Ms😆

You enjoy that new look as well

I do this, too, especially with cuts. I had the same hairdresser for decades and would often ask him to suggest something different, and I was always up for it.

It sounds beautiful and just in time for Fall Smiley Happy  I love layers!  My hair has been more or less the same layered style for years.  I would love some carmel-y highlights but I color my own hair and have no interest in trying to do highlights myself.

I like your new hair formula...sounds very pretty. Yes me too with discovering that long hair doesn't do you any favors at some point in our journey. I like mi e about 3" past my chin.

On a side note, I'm watching Jane T now and remember her long ago with auburn, reddish brown hair. I wish she'd consider going back to that.

@bmorechick , it's amazing how beautiful brunettes can highlight but not blond!

I had mine highlighted like yours once, and my first compliment was I looked like a CA gal, not from CA of course!
