I got my $20 off $50 and headed with my little list to Sephora. The Sephora I went to is a pretty big one. I ended up working with a woman who I think was the manager or she was at least the manager on duty. The store did not have two of the four items I wanted so I didn't buy but we had an interesting discussion on Sephora and why I no longer spend as much money there as I used to.

I told her I thought Sephora was kind of chintzy with the VIB discounts and that most of my beauty budget went elsewhere these days. She said Sephora was "working" on their program but then basically said Sephora was not into discounts or a program like Nordstrom's notes. She said they are product based and they tweaking the 100/500 pt gifts. I told her I was not impressed by having to spend $500 only to get some bag of little products I really am not interested in. I told her I appreciated the Nordstrom note program as I get some back for the buck and I can purchase what I want.

She then said Sephora hoped people would shop there because of their awesome, unbiased sales associates. Yes, she really said that. She then tried to tell me how awesome the rouge program was. After spending a $1000, I could get free shipping on any purchase amount. Told her Nordstrom ships free and I don't have to spend $1000.

Anyways - thought I would share. We do some griping about Sephora on here (at least I do) and it was interesting to hear Sephora's philosophy.
