Ok. I know this has been talked about but I can't find it 😕. @monicakm has talked about this and others, can't remember who all does this. My immediate reaction is like a hard pass....but I'm intrigued. I have a derm appointment along with Mama 12/28.
I'm seeing a couple tiny dry patches on this dry skin... ( But glycerin/water 20:80% is greatly improving my skin barrier) and I want to do what I can at home to improve my complexion myself. I know he'll try to sell me something I want but can't afford. I'm mainly going to get a recommendation for a treatment for these couple dark circles from past sun exposure. Anyway, I've been frustrated lately with cakey makeup 😖. I've been subtracting one product at a time to see what the culprit is and I think it's a skin CREAM in the am. I use Neutrogena hydro boost gel and layer a cream or face oil before or after both....then spf.
My IT CC nude glow layed down perfectly but not my L'Oreal Infallible Pro Glow foundation.
I have to add that I know it's not the glycerin because I use that spray on top of any foundation.
So onto exfoliating. I use the Ordinary lactic acid 10% + HA several days a week a.m.
I'm fascinated with this derma planing! It scares me because I know it could lead to cuts done incorrectly but what I read about the benefits is interesting!
What tips and little tidbits of info have you ladies to share with us about it?

Re: More about derma planing

Hi @Midmod

I do this!!  I was kinda afraid to start, too.  So I know what you mean.... just go slow and don't over do it with the exfoliation.

It does nothing for my age spot.  BOOO!!  I talked to my derm about it and he suggested I just live with it.  We could try the laser treatment, but in his opinion, looking at what it is, the laser it could make it more noticeable.

Anyway-- back to the dermaplaner.  I do it about every 3 weeks.  On a day I've done no other efoliation steps & on dry skin.

I buy a package of 12 disposable facial dermaplaners by /kit-sch/ from Ulta.  I start with a new one every time.

I pull the skin taunt, gently slide the razor at an angle that is almost level with my face (so I'm really just skimming the skin) and only do one pass.  (Don't keep going over the same area).

After, I don't put on any products.  I just let the skin be.  That was the advice that came with the Flawless Brand dermaplaner.

The Flawless brand came as a set: a wand and a cartridge of refills.  I would have kept using that one because it also had a light on it. A nice feature. However, I could never find the refills on their own.
