My skincare routine takes time. My usual makeup routine, not so much. After finishing my skincare, I put Cerave Day Moisturizer with 30 spf on face, neck & back of hands; tightline upper lid with Clinique Black gel eyeliner in the pot, one swipe of colored eyeliner on the top lid (usually green) in lieu of shadow; and a lip gloss.
Do the math.

1. Loreal True Match foundation (to cover my redness)
2. Brow pencil
3. soft brown eye liner - lining bottom 1/3 only
4. Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus

That's it.  If it wasn't for the rosacea I'd wear no foundation.  At least I don't always have to apply blush.

I start with a little moisturizer and then apply Laura Mercier's ("LM") tinted moisturizer, a little blush LM, lipstick LM or Doll 10 and a little dark gray pencil LM lightly under the lower lashes  That is the basic.  Sometimes I will add a finishing powder and brown mascara.  At my age I prefer brown mascara for a more natural look.  Lately, I have using Origins Fringe Benefits mascara.  Tinted moisturizer is light but evens out the skin tone plus it has SPF.  Cat Very Happy

I'm 60 and still work full time so my makeup routine is "the whole nine yards" on work days (or if I'm leaving the house at all) and a bare face if I'm not leaving the house. I haven't been able to find anything "in between" where I might cut out any steps and still be happy with the results. If I do only part of my routine, it just doesn't look finished to me.
