I have noticed that some men's skin looks so much better than some women's even though they have aged a bit. My husband has great skin and does nothing to it. Do you ever think maybe that women are just using more products which can cause more harm than good.

It's all about genes. M or F can do little to nothing & have great skin!

A daily shave = Exfoliation.

It's the shaving, men are constantly exfoliating by shaving. It's beneficial for some men. But I'm about to buy into the idea that all men have good skin because that definitely is not the case. Also some men do use skincare products, they just don't advertise it. My husband uses a couple of Avon products for his face and body because his skin tends to be very, very dry. If it helps...he'll use it...but only if it's unscented.

I've read that men's skin is about 20% thicker and generally more oily than women. This could be one reason that we appear to age slower than women. As a guy, I've been using skin care products since I was in my 20s. I'm now in my 60s.

After my last bout of actinic keratosis and two weeks of Carac cream, I took the derm's advice and purchased Refissa, which is a .05% Tretinoin cream. I've tried three times a week and I still get irritation around my eyes, and I don't put it anywhere near my eyes.

I spend most of my time in Florida, and a lot of that time is on a boat or in a convertible. Yes, I wear sunscreen and a hat, but you cannot avoid sun exposure unless you stay indoors. I'm considering giving up all products that cause sun sensitivity.

Oftentimes, if I see a guy with beautiful skin and ask what he uses, I get the same answer: Soap and water.
