I'll admit - I don't get it.

WHY would you want your lips to be FLAT in their color?

Is it just because someone said this is the new trend?

I have yet to find that look attractive. SHouldn't lips look moist? Maybe not super glossy all the time, but FLAT?

Like I don't get "nudes" that blend into your skin tone. I find having some COLOR to be so much more attractive.

Let's see, me in a flat matte in a true nude, I would look like I passed away . . .

I am fair, and look better in a pink or peach. I have to be very careful about reds and berries. Tans and browns looks just horrible on me.

If I have a color I like that is too dry, I put a little gloss over top.

Do the math.

I don't care for flat matte lip color either, any more than I do about flat matte foundation, really.

This has kept me from trying the NYX Matte Lip Creams, even though I've eyed some of the colors I like!

It is wonderful that we have so many choices. Something for everyone indeed!

Hi Hyacinth003: I like matte lipstick that has just a tiny sheen to it. Don't wear overly glossy anything on my lips. Kissable lips, not shellacked or vinyl covering look lips.

I was watching an awards show the other night & almost everyone had beige lips. Queen Latifah had beige lips & then changed to a pretty dark red color & it looked so much better. Lips look dead & disappear when they match your skin color.

caninefitchi: perhaps you can find one of these new nude colors & apply lightly to tone down your lip color. I still have color in my lips, but I like to enhance it when I wear lip color.
