For those that use oil free mat foundation such as EL Double Wear, how do you get a more dewy look? Or is it even possible?

Tinted primer-double wear just covers it.

Shimmer powders- looks like shimmer powder

stick/cream blushes- not really all over effect. maybe my application but looks clownish.

May just go back to Lancome.

Re: Mat Foundation & Dewy Look

I thought the whole purpose of wearing a matte foundation was because you wanted a matte finish.  That's the reason I buy glowy foundations; I want a glowy finish.

The two don't go together,  If you want a dewy finish choose your foundation accordingly.

Perhaps try a soft powder highlighter in strategic places. Hourglass or Two Faced...someone else may have other suggestions.

I'd try a different foundation.

I use EL because I don't want a dewy look, your right Lancome has more of a dewy look, which is why I choose EL over Lancome.

Re: Mat Foundation & Dewy Look

I wear a matte foundation because I don't want a dewey look.  Isn't that the point of matte foundations?  If I wanted a dewey look, I'd choose a foundation formulated to give me that look.

I was trying EL Double Wear for coverage and for summer humidity. I appreciate your thoughts. Looks like I'll go back to lancome. Last summer heat I tried a setting spray over Lancome but didnt really work well.

@granddi

Which Lancome foundation do you wear?  I have Lancome's Tiente Idole (wore it yesterday) and I wouldn't consider it dewy.  I would call it more of a satin...eh, maybe a hybrid of satin and dewy.  There is another foundation formula you might want to check out. a natural finish.  IMO, Nars Light Reflective foundation is a natural finish.  Sephora will give you samples of foundations.
