One coat brushed from base to tip.  Top lashes only.  No lash curling necessary.

I have Black Lashes that are fairly long. If a Mascara cannot can not give me what I need with one coat, its not for me. My favorite is IT Superhero, 2nd is Loreal Volume Lash Paradise, 3rd is Essence Lash Princess. I apply it at the base of my lashes & then up. If its a humid day & I wear it, I can't start at the base because it stings my eyes as they water in humid weather. The same with me @Harpa just a light touch on my bottom lashes.. Oh, Most of the time, I don't curl my lashes...when I was young my lashes were naturally curled...not as much now but still some...

For reference, I have long lashes but they are very light.

Base to tip, top lashes only. I tend to put more mascara on the outer corner lashes as I like that more doe eyed look. I like my lashes to look fanned out, not that "starburst" look Mally always talks about. 

I do not wiggle the brush, just long, controlled strokes and then little strokes in areas that need it more.

I also do not let coats dry inbetween as I find that harsher on my lashes and don't want them to break off.

@Harpa,   Hi Harpa,   My lashes are long but not super long.  I like to eccentuate the length.  My lashes are very dense/full so I apply about 2 sometimes 3 coats.  I don't like the clumpy look but rather when the lashes are separated and long.  OMG!  Those models with the extremely long lashes look horrible on the Q.  Mally loves to use those models.

It depends on if I'm just doing a basic look or if I'm going all out.

I don't need length either. I use CoverGirl LashBlast Volume (orange tube), and wiggle the brush a bit from side to side as I go up...stop at the ends. None on bottom lashes, don't need it there. I like the Very Black color...my lashes are very dark brown.
