Manicure Gloves (UV protection)

Saw these gloves featured in a magazine the other day. They are designed to protect your hands from UV exposure from putting your hands under those nail dryers in the salon and from the exposure from gel (Shellac, et al) manicures. Anyone ever used them? I wonder how effective they are and whether they are truly necessary. My hands are just starting to show their age {#emotions_dlg.glare}
