So I admit to being a makeup hoarder, I know I have a problem! That being said I have 2 or 3 of these. Maybe I have had them too long, I have a question. What is the texture of this product suppose to be? I try to swipe the sponge on it and nothing comes on. Am I suppose to dig into it, then it sort of cakes onto the sponge. I really don't get this product, maybe it's just me?

@I use Mally's Poreless @Jordan2, and it's one of the nicest foundations I've used. The delivery system is the sponge. The liquid foundation is in the sponge. You press the brush into the sponge, and you should SEE the foundation on the brush. Perhaps you are pressing too lightly. Firmly press. Or maybe, I hope not, you have a defect. This foundation is super for dry and mature skin. It's a light to medium coverage. Send it back, if it is not working for you. I think you'll love it, once it's working.

It is supposed to be solid. I lightly swipe the sponge over it & it does not look like there is anything on it because the product is clear - but there is. You don't want big globs of product on the sponge. That is way too much. I pat the sponge over my face & it mattifies it.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, this is not the foundation I'm talking about. It is clear and you apply it over your makeup to set and control shine.

If you like it you are wise to hoard it, as it has disappeared from almost every website. I've emailed Mallybeauty several times to see if it is being discontinued and I never get a response. I have two backups and just purchased a full priced one that I found online at Ulta. I have never paid full price for this but I love it and there is nothing else like it.
It will last a long time unopened so your product should be fine. Willdob3 explained perfectly how it should be applied. Also, the product may appear to have shading in it, this is normal. Another poster was referring to a foundation product, not Face Defender.

I'm happy to learn that the Face Defender will last a while if it is unopened. I have three of them unopened and I want to start using them! Thanks!

I won't be without this! I love the way it makes my face feel, and I wear it every day - even if I'm home with no makeup on! I've watched Mally demonstrate this through the years and here's what I do: I pat the sponge onto the product probably about 10 times to start, then I pat it on my face. I do one side, pat on the product about 3 more times, do my forehead amd chin, pat again 3 more times and do my nose and under my eye area. I don't rub or swipe at all, and I don't push the sponge into the product. This is most definitely one of my HG + products!
I also use it to "refresh" my makeup in the late afternoon or evening if I need to! ![]()

I bought Mally's SPF15 BB Defender Cream and it arrived Friday in the mail. I tried it today before going out to run errands. WOW - I'm amazed with this product. I first apply Dr Denese SPF30 day concealer all over as a primer, then I apply some IT ByeBye concealer here and there to cover issues I have. I then applied Mally's BB cream and yes I was amazed at how easy and smooth it went on all over. It covers very well, no telltale signs of it on. Dries into a soft matte powder immediately. Amazing stuff!!!
Pricey however at $45.00. I don't see this tube lasting very long but we'll see. Did not buy it here but paid the same (included the brush), no tax, no s/h since it was over $30.00 purchase. Nice.

this was my go to as well as L'Oreal tru match lumi before I just ordered the TSV IT.
The mally is $45 as you say with a brush although I don't like that type of brush so I use my Real Techniques expert face brush. I just put a drop of foundation on the top of my brush, dot around my face then blend all over, perfect.
You do get 1.8 ounces in this instead of the usual 1 ounce in most other products.
This also is long lasting on, can wear it 12 hours at a time and still looks and feels good.
It was price alone that I didn't reorder, love the defender bb other than the price.

I wish had purchased more of them. So diasppointed I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone know where it can be purchased? Mally needs to bring it back![]()
