Promised @monicakm that I would review this new-to-me foundation once I was done trying it out for a few days. Know this foundaiton is not new to MAC and probably not new to some of you but it's new to me.
Had been wanting to find a powder foundation for a while. Tried many - Laura Geller, PUR, IT, Jane Iredale and none seemed to work for me for various reasons. Was in ULTA last week and had a wonderful sales associate that took her time with me trying to find the right powder foundation and we did!
I'm usually light neutral skin tone. The sales associate found the perfect shade for me - 5N - in the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation. I am IN LOVE with this powder foundation. The shade is so good on me. Have put it on with both a brush and a dry sponge and it works fine with each one. Also have tried it with different primers that I have as well as no primer. Think I like it best with a hydrating primer but was also happy with how it looked on the no primer day. I do have to put a mattifying primer on my nose as that is my oiliest problem area but do that with all my foundations. Otherwise my skin is pretty normal to dry-ish.
This foundation goes on like a dream, blends in so easily, stays all day, does not settle in my laugh lines or fine lines, doesn't look powdery or dry, does fine with powder blush and bronzers and looks so good all day. I would say it has a good light to not quite medium coverage, at least thats how I like it on me. Kept checking it while standing at the bathroom mirror and in my magnifying mirror and was so impressed. It looked great all day. Will definitely be reaching for this foundation a lot.

@JudyL M.A.C.'s Studio Fix is an iconic powder foundation. M.A.C. has dabbled with the formula over the years, but it generally remains the same as it's always been. There is a dizzying number of shades, but that's ok too because with so many shades it's almost impossible to settle for something that is a tad too light or dark or with a not quite right undertone.
There are some excellent powder foundations on the market, but Studio Fix is in the category of being one of those products that I would recommend to anyone looking for a powder foundation and is not inclined to try several brands trying to find the right one. Enjoy!

@Trix - I've heard of this powder foundation off and on for years but never been much of a MAC shopper so never looked into it. I'm so glad the sales associate mentioned that we try it because I never would have thought of it.

I would have never guessed a powder foundation.
Your review is absolutely glowing. I can see the need for a hydrating primer with this being a powder product. I'm so glad that you found a patter Foundation you like so much. I haven't worn my Natasha Denona powder foundation in a while. No reason really, I like it just fine and in fact I think I'll wear it next time I go out. I must admit you've got me very curious about the Mac product though. I bought the Charlotte Tilbury setting spray just for this foundation. It looks too dry without it and the setting spray gives me a little glow. Mine came with a flat sponge for application but I don't want that much coverage so I use a fluffy powder brush. I like the coverage level using the brush. I might go on eBay and look around for my color. I don't want to spend much since I certainly don't need it. Thanks for your glowing review!

Based on the information I filled out to find my shade, including the Natasha Denona shade, I would be a NW10. Humm, that doesn't sound right for a light neutral complexion.

I have always been able to choose my Foundation shade online but I can't pick one for the Mac powder foundation on Ulta's website
too many shades too close in shade range. But if anyone knows their shade in this Foundation, you can get it on eBay for a half price.

@monicakm - MAC's way of listing their foundation shades is so different than everyone else's that I would never try and pick a foundation online. With MAC it's best to go to a store that carries it and get matched in person.

@monicakm - I am an N5 so your shade very well could be right but as I said in my other post, with MAC's crazy way of listing their shades, it's always best to get matched in a store.

I think it is the best ever. Try it and I'm sure you will be hooked for life.
I don't use primer's or what many about here chat about but I put moisturizer (Cerave), wait several minutes, and then with a buff brush use the MAC studio fix and and brush it around. Then add a sponge brush and dab for the pimple that pops up when necessary. Ugh!
I'm silly, I thought Lancome dual finish was the best but I was so wrong.
