I guess I'm not as paranoid about using a spray.  I have in the past and might again.   You need an open window.  You also need a turban to put your hair under.

When you spray lightly keep your lips tightly closed.  Don't spray up your nostrils.. spray down.

Leave the room and let it air out if you're worried.  Then come back and finish your makeup or take a makeup mirror to another room.

Sounds like a hassle, but this is the extreme.  I never did those things besides open my window.  No problems at all.

Those with bad allergies, I can certainly understand your reservations.
