I was looking at reviews for IT Cosmetics blush, and there are page after page of them that say "Collected as part of a promotion" "originally published on IT Cosmetics website".  

Is this normal?  I don't like it.  There are about 1500 reviews and most of them were originally from their website.

I love IT Cosmetics.  I think they have the best brushes ever.  I just want to know why the reviews are not from QVC purchases.

I have seen that with other products as well.

I also don't like it since it makes me feel that the review is going to be less than 100% honest if they are getting the item either for free or heavily discounted.

@Kate Jones This is common practice for many online retailers. I filter my search for reviews under "Most Helpful". Usually this will bring up the reviews posted by QVC buyers if this is your preference. Another option is to filter by most recent. 

@haddon9 I know many feel that if you are given an item for free you will post positive reviews. This is not necessarily the case. See below for just a portion of negative reviews by people that received this item for promotional purposes.

I've noticed that also and I ignore those reviews. I don't trust them.

Yes, it has become increasingly common for companies to collect reviews during functions or tours.  The FTC says it's okay if they're identified as such.

Just heard this morning that the FTC is institution strick new regulations for reviews.  Something like 39% of Amazon reviews are not genuine.  There will be some stiff fines for violations.

Ihope this is true @Kachina624 because otherwise the reviews are worthless. I feelawful because I seldome write a review, primarily because the sellers want me to turn off our ad and pop-up blocker which is there for our business protection.
