I got carried away during the latest MAC show and ordered many lipsticks.  They are coming from the east coast and it's 104 today on the west coast.  Will they melt before they get here?  I wish I had had the self control to just go to a MAC counter so I wouldn't have to worry!!

@Helen Bach - I'm on the West Coast too but luckily not as hot as where you are.  On warm days I have put lipsticks that I ordered in the refrigerator for an hour after they were delivered just in case they had gotten a bit soft. I didn't look at them until after they'd been in the refrigerator.  You could try that.

I would have that concern too. The texture could get messed up.

If you can make sure you're at home when the delivery happens, you could pounce on the package and bring it in right away. The lipsticks might be fine if they didn't spend too long in the truck getting to you.

During the summer, I just can't bring myself to online order any cosmetic or makeup that could be affected by the heat. I can imagine lipsticks and serums changing molecular structure in the back of a hot truck or while waiting on my porch. To the point where functionality is lessened or even completely ruined.

To be safe I stick to Sephora and Ulta curbside pickup until the heat lessens. I feel the same way about the cold in winter. I don't want anything I buy to get a chance to freeze either.

I tested lipsticks at 120 degrees F. They did okay.

Sure could use a little good news today.

@Helen Bach

I live in Texas and ordered two Givenchy lipsticks for DD for Christmas.  They survived 100+ temps, and 4 days in a metal mailbox in full sun.  When I finally brought them in I let the package cool at room temp and they are perfect.  Thank goodness for the price.

I live in Phoenix...and have ordered some from Macy's and Ulta...they did fine.  I was concerned, so when I received...befor opening, I put in frig for a little while.

I would be concerned with the heat.

I left a lipstick in a black car and it melted.  I was able to use it, however, because it was in a long "bullet".
