Lipstick, Lipgloss count

I was bored this evening so I decided to count my lipsticks (yes I know I could have found something else to do) because I have them in my bathroom drawers and my makeup organizer. I also have many that I haven't opened and I've had them for at least a year maybe longer. Total count 45 !! Oh my goodness ! Anybody else overstocked ??

I have way too many since I stopped working in the office and there is no need to use lip colour, unless I go out to shop or something. I am purging colours I don't like even now.

A few weeks ago I went through my lipsticks and got rid of quite a few that were either too old or I just didn't really care for that shade on me. I still have too many but lipsticks and blushes are my weakness.

Even with as many as I have left the other evening I was on the Sephora website looking at the newer shades.

Fortunately I came to my senses and resisted buying any. I do understand the draw though. I've always been a lipstick lover.

I have maybe 6 or 8 lipsticks. 0 lip glosses but I do have Nars lip balm I use like a gloss. Alone or over lipstick. Not sticky or tacky.

I did a purge of lipsticks in the Spring. Some smelled funky 🙄

Others I tossed because they were just old.

I bought only DS to replace. Loreal and Revlon Super Lustrous in the black tube. Why was I spending $$$ and then tossing barely used tubes?

If I haven't worn it in a year I never will.

Is The Pope Catholic? In other words, it's a big, fat YES from me! And I just bought a few more for National Lipstick Day 💄....🤷‍♀️

I keep saying I'm going to keep about a dozen and pitch the rest, but I'm a weakling. The one thing I have decided is that I am sticking with drugstore brands from now on. No more Doll 10 or Tarte sets because there are always klunkers. I hope I can stick with it. 🤞

Well, I may go down in history on this thread as the only one having too few lipsticks.

About a year before the covid lockdown I found the most perfect rosy-coral color of a pencil with a texture somewhere between a lip balm and a lipstick.

Used it exclusively, it was perfect! Threw a bunch of old lipsticks out.

Covid happened and I wore only colorless moisturizing lip balms so as to avoid messing up the inside of my paper masks.

Haven't gone back to lipstick yet. Still have a few, but not finding anything I want to wear.

At least for the time being, the thrill is gone.

Not really overstocked, but I probably have about 20 favorites! Also 2 fav lip palettes. There's another palette I've had my eye on, but haven't gotten it. I'm in total control of this!

I have two Mario Badescu lip balms, two glosses from Nomad cosmetics, lip mask from Sephora collection and a chapstick. I'm lookiing to buy a lip oil from Korres. That's it.
