Re: Layering products on face.

I am not a fan of layering but I do use a serum and then a moisturizer. I was not always a fan for using serums but I like them now.  But that is it.  Just two products, whatever they may be, and then mu if I am wearing any that is.  At night, I only use 2 as well.  I don't like tons of layers.

We are not onions.  Less is more.  A dependable cleanser is important.  If your skin has specific issues, then extra products might be necessary.  But I was pulled into that philosophy of layering a few years ago and all I did was ruin my skin.  I still cannot put sunscreen on my face.  I use a Paula's Choice cleanser with a Konjac sponge, then spritz on Thayer's alcohol-free witch hazel.  When I have to look presentable, I wear Lumene CC cream.

I did just order another Lumene product just to get free shipping when I reordered my CC cream: Lumene Bright Now Vitamin C BB Serum.  It's a colorless BB cream that I want to use as an alternative to CC cream on days when I'm out with the dog -- especially if it's raining or snowing.  If it doesn't work as a CC cream substitute I'll be back to layering -- using it under the CC cream which, to me, is somewhat counterintuitive.

Re: Layering products on face.

I'm cautious about layering too.  I like products that do more than one thing - My Dr. Jart BB cream has a good physical sunblock and also keeps my touchy, somewhat oily skin moisturized without breaking me out while evening out my skin tone.  It's been a lifesaver for me.  I use the Black Label Detox, but this line has several formulations of BB cream available - highly recommend it!
