Large Size Purity question

I have used Purity for quite some time. After using several small sizes, I ordered one of the huge bottles. I am now on my third huge bottle and I have used 2/3 of it. The smell has changed in the last week or so. I don't get that nice smell anymore. Have any of you ever had one of these large sized items go bad? I use it twice a day, but I have probably had it for a year or so. Maybe I should just order the smaller sizes. This big thing just lasts too long. I know Philosophy is advertising the paraben free items. Maybe without the parabens, they do not last as long????????
