Re: Lancome TSV

[ Edited ]

So Cara just said this is your day and night cream. It replaces every other other cream for the face and neck that lift / plump / smooth.... etc.  She said Genifique can  be used with Absolue. No need to use the other lines with it.

@BdBettyB  IF that was true, Lancome wouldn't make it in a night cream version, plus you're wasting the SPF. This is the 1.7 oz jar so you're going to go through it much faster. I have no doubt she said it; probably because it isn't selling due to the price and she's trying to justify the cost.  When she was on air with Bobby selling this, Bobby kept going on and on about how she never knew about this cream and wow and.....yeah. Maybe you need to do more research, Bobby OR be a bit more convincing with your "story".

As always, the sharp eyed consumer is going to see through the sales pitch.

This is exactly how people get jaded about skincare: You pay a crazy amount for products, trusting that a company wouldn't dare charge so much for complete bunk.

And then it doesn't do anything. And then you come to the conclusion that no skincare works, since you tried the "best" and it did nothing.

There is nothing about this set that is powerful enough to revamp aging skin. It can moisturize (which is what I see happening in the before and after pictures on the HSN site). But so would any moisturizer from the drugstore.

Lots of bad/iffy/potentially sensitizing ingredients are in this set too. Denatured Alcohol (worryingly high in the day cream list), Mineral Oil, Paraffin, Fragrance, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Citronellol, Lavender Oil, all the Parabens...

Ingredients for the set:

@Shanus, the aesthetician who works in the derm office where my daughter works has mentioned that so many skincare companies are robbing the consumer with their high prices and lack of beneficial ingredients. She specifically mentioned Lancome. I know many women will claim that they see improvement in their skin. Since Lancome isn't cruelty free, I have tried to avoid buying anything from them. Haven't bought their skincare in years after my daughter educated me.

From HSN .com 1,850 sold. Is that overall? If so then that is so low.

@BdBettyB If you pulled that number from their site where the item number is located, then yes. If you pulled that number from a live feed, then no.

Does that make sense, lol?

I checked out the item number of the set to see the size of the cream and it's the 1.7 or smaller size jar. It was around the high 1500's  sold then; just before I posted on this thread at 11.30 this morning.

@Tricolor  Did I mention that my Mom at 90 has used Lancôme forever. They sure have a sucker in her at the counter. She’s still purchasing firming and lifting cream & believes it’s working (her face is neither firm or lifted). The few nights I stayed over, I tried it just to see what the hoo ha was about. It felt like lard on my face. It was such a thick moisturizer, even a tiny bit massaged in well, stayed on the surface...can’t do much good unless it sinks in. I waited 1/2 hr. and couldn’t wait to wash my face.

  • I am not 9-0 but I am getting up there. I love Lancome Absolue.I feel like my skin is so plumped up and firm using it. I am sure it would be too   much for a younger person. but for us senior women- it is awesome.
  • I like to purchase when it is sold in a special configuration or at bonus time. I also now have an ulta card and will use my points for it. so If I am a sucker at the counter so be it.
  • You are so lucky to have your mom, I hope she enjoys her cosmetic treats and if she is happy and likes her results= good! enjoy !

All that matters is your happiness. I'm glad Lancome works for you. I like Lancome Genifique myself. It's lovely to put on.
