Then they started offering that white mascara to build on.  I have very thick and very long lashes and did not need that but the salesgirl told me it would not clump up on me if I used that.  I bought it.  It still clumped on me.  

@Nonametoday  Lancome has made Cils Booster  (the white lash primer) for many years.  Although 95% of the time I use Lancome mascara, I've never liked Cils. Earlier this year I discovered L'Oreal's Paradise Lash Primer. I've been using the one that is tinted pink.  It's creamy like Cils Booster, but I find it to be more moisturizing to the lashes and best of all does an excellent job of being a mascara base.  It holds the mascara fabulously.  I find it even works when it's time to toss the mascara and I try to squeeze a few more wearings out of the tube.  It still holds the mascara and controls the flaking that tends to happen with old mascara.

It sounds to me like the Lancome mascaras you purchased were a little past their prime in the box, but you've found a suitable replacement in a Clinique product, so it may not make sense to give Lancome another try unless mascara is included in a set you may purchase at one of the many Lancome counters or HSN.   

@Icegoddess  I like your Lancome lashes best.  Did you use Definicils for the photo.  Had you used Monsieur Big or Grandiose it would have been no contest.

@Trix No, I'm using the new Lancome Idole mascara that was the TSV about a month ago.
