It is a treatment that uses light to heat the skin and cause the pigmented areas to rise to the surface and peel off, supposedly in about a week.

There are two forums that are very active, large and knowledgeable about procedures.

Essentialdayspa . com

and makeupalley. com on their Cosmetic Procedure board

I've had the Limelight treatment in the past and really liked it. In fact, I'm scheduled for another Limelight treatment for my face and hands on May 21st.

If you have a lot of sun damage, those areas will turn dark almost immediately after the treatment (like black pepper) so it is sometime difficult to cover these areas completely with makeup. It took about one week for these dark areas to come to the surface completely and flake off.

Of course, it is very important to be diligent with SPF35+ after the Limelight treatment or the hyperpigmentation will come right back.

Through the last several years, I have had random treatments. My consensus is.....the effectiveness is directly related to the one doing the treatment. My very gal was great, but she eventually quit to stay home with her boys. The lady that took her place AS WELL as the one I used last, set the settings too low and I really got little to no results. They can up the settings, but it is frustrating because of the time and distance for me, I will probably continue at some point, but I have to work around events and time the treatments out because I don't want to have bad looking spots if I have to attend something. The spots don't last a really long time, but there are definitely days I prefer to stay home while they are their worst.
