She is older. She's 81. After plastic surgery she looks 80.

I was watching Joan on her Fashion Police show on E last week and she actually kidded about the fact that her face doesn't move. She tried to make faces too. She has always been so blunt and honest about the work she has done that it makes it almost endearing and definitely funny which is her intent.
She keeps up with it by having continual touch-ups. I think she feels if she's done this much, why stop now and let the aging show. I think Joan actually looks good and it doesn't bother me that her face doesn't wrinkle up with her expressions. It's become who she is.
My sister works in NYC and occasionally sees Joan and she told me that up close Joan really does look good. She was impressed with how fabulous her face looks and said she has had one heck of a talented plastic surgeon. In a way, Joan has made having work done acceptable as she never tried to hide it or pretend that she didn't go all out. She really is comical when she talks about all the procedures.

Absolutely not!! She makes a living being rude and obnoxious. She has no trouble making remarks about everyone, so she hasn't earned any respect from me. She has put herself in the position to be commented on due to both her public status and her hateful behavior.
Joan is a Comedian and making fun of people is what Comedians do. That's how they earn a living which is making people laugh. Joan is no different than any other successful Comedian and some are a heck of a lot harsher than she is. You can tell when she does the Red Carpet events that even the celebrities love her regardless if she made fun of the dress they wore last year.
Joan opened a lot of doors for women in Comedy which is commendable. She had a rough road to ride before she truly "made it" and I do have respect and admiration for her
perseverance and never giving up no matter how many doors were slammed in her face.

I didn't think Joan had hit her 80th b'day yet but I could be wrong. I have to believe that Melissa would throw her one heck of a birthday bash when she does. 78 keeps coming to mind but not completely sure why. I did watch the Fashion Police show when they celebrated her most recent b'day but can't recall for absolute sure what they said her age was. She is so different from the typical celebs who never say their age ............ Joan has no issue stating hers for all to hear. Her honesty is definitely refreshing.

Joan Rivers is a joke. A quite UNfunny joke. She looks like an alien mated with a plastic cat.

Joan Rivers turned 80 on June 8th 2013. She will be 81 this June. Google it.

I have not purchased nor do I have any intention on ever buying any of her beauty products ...... doesn't look like she believes in them, thus, the plastic surgeries.
Talking about plastic surgery, here is what's so scary:
Here's the story:

I think people should do what they want to themselves as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.
The way I look at it, who am I to judge someone else's beauty. If she doesn't like the way she looks and wants to feel like she looks beautiful, that's her business. I don't judge her on her beauty.
I judge her on her clothes and some of them I like, some don't look good on me.

I agree with Annabellethecat. Joan is a generous person and she can spend money on herself if that is what is important to her. I certainly don't think she looks like a freak as Gazelle77 suggested, but it is clear she has had a lot of work done. Have to wonder what she would look like had she just aged normally.
