Re: Joan Rivers Great Hair Day

I've been using Joan's product for awhile now and LOVE it! I used to color my hair a reddish brown but switched to a medium brown just so this product would be a better match! I use the blonde and it's perfect! I just use it on the front half of my head. I make a part about every inch or maybe a little more and stipple it on my hair and scalp plus along my temples, etc. Joan says it's not supposed to match your hair color but look like the shadow your hair makes, but I prefer a match...and this product delivers! I have one I'm using now and 2 more in my bathroom cupboard, plus it's on auto-delivery every 90 days...Love, love, love it! QVC is selling another brand that is actually a cream or something that goes right on the hair, and you only get a fraction of the product you get from Joan for just about $1 less...no thanks!

I have found something that works and is much more reasonable in price and has no smell--find a taupe or light brown or whatever color you need powder eye shadow!

Use a light hand on your scalp and it blends very well for me. I've been doing it for several years in the front and top of my hair. It will cover gray--but is definitely temporary. Be sure to get matte--not one with any glitter or shine.

ITA! I've been powder e/s for many years and it works for me.

Adrienne, from the other channel, has a great product, better than JR, but is applied in the same way.

I have JR and have used it for years but recently ordered the SCA and like it even more. Got the light brown for my brows and med/dark for my hair.

I have two goofy cowlicks and have used Joan's product for years.

It lasts forever and works on brows too, in a pinch.

Joan"s Great Hair Day is a must for me. I've used it for years. Having had more hair loss recently, it has been the solution for a few patches with very little hair. I first use the Great Hair Day and follow with a sprinkling of Toppik hair fibers. This works great, and I can be out even in bright sun and feel confident my problem is not evident. My hair is a medium auburn, and Great Hair Day is perfect.

Just dab the brush into the product instead of brushing it, that's probably why it crumbles. I'm sensitive to smell and it doesn't smell to me at all. I use it for scalp coverage - I also like XFusion/Toppik.

Re: Joan Rivers Great Hair Day

I have dark brown hair (and I use the "brunette" color I think it's called); I use this product between each and every shampoo. It's fantastic!!!! I place it on my thinning scalp, then style my hair as usual. It's not meant to match the color of your hair perfectly, it creates shadow so those thinning parts disappear (just be careful NOT to put it densely on the edge of your hairline, or it'll be obvious and that's not a good look). There's some common sense things to remember too -- if you do anything that causes your scalp to sweat a lot, it will of course rub off when you pat your scalp dry (i.e., a long aerobic workout). It works wonderfully for me!!!

BA would you compare the two of them since you've used both. Thanks.

Re: Joan Rivers Great Hair Day

Joan's product did not work for me. The one I like is WOW. I know it is more expensive but it has a less powdery consistency and stays looking more natural as it has a bit of shine. I think I got my first one at QVC. But you can get it at Ulta also.
