Joan Rivers Beauty -- The Right to Bare Legs, I bought this in the medium color and I am having trouble getting this leg makeup to apply evenly. Do any of you ladies who have used this before have any application tips?

I think the medium color is a bit too dark for me, but at this time of year my legs are pasty looking. I've tried applying this product with the sponge applicator and with my bare hands and I think I'm doing something wrong because it looks streaky. I'm trying to cover spider veins and some skin discolorations on the back of my calves.
