Re: Jill Baurer's inappropriate comment !

My favorite saying that means the same is 'build a bridge and get over it.' Lol. I didn't see the incident in question, but I think maybe Jill should save that saying for private use instead of public use.

Re: Jill Baurer's inappropriate comment !

I didn't hear the comment, so I do not have a clear image of the way she used it. That said, I am a Christian and I am not offended. It isn't the best choice of sayings, but.... I am sure it is not something Jill says all the time, or we would have most certainly heard about it before now. Sometimes I think we did dig too deep or find fault to easily. I am also quite sure she didn't mean it in a derogatory way, but again.. JMO. I think it might be a slip of the tongue she wishes she hadn't said. If she repeatedly made comments in this way,it might be different.

I have heard the saying many times, and it is usually laughingly, or lovingly said in reference to someone who is being a bit of a martyr. I just haven't heard it said any other way, so I am sorry if I too have the wrong feeling for the usage of the saying..Is it an appropriate saying to use on a shopping channel? Probably NOT. But it is done, and there are worse things going on in this world right now.

She may have been "hyped up" and didn't think before it came out. I have been in this position in my life a couple times.

You have to admit, it is a very descriptive saying It gets the point across when used in the right context. I like the saying myself, when used differently!

Oh, good grief! So Jill was humorously quoting a colorful saying from somebody's crusty old grandmother? Puts things in a different light.

Yes, that is what I heard her say, that she was quoting the phrase David Venable uses that his grandma would say. I think if people could re watch that segment they would see that she didn't mean anything offensive by it.

Another new nic troll complaining about a host.

Jill's comment was harmless.

Yes, and I suspect, like myself, most people didn't even hear what she said that preceded it, so as I said, the quote was taken totally out of context!

Not a huge Jill fan, but if she said that, she just went up a couple of notches in my estimation for having more of a sense of humor than I'd imagined. LOL.

I wouldn't be surprised at anything that comes out of her mouth.

Re: Jill Baurer's inappropriate comment !

It was inappropriate. Even if you weren't offended, there are plenty of people who would have been, and who are you to tell them to "lighten-up." I'm sure Ms. Bauer regrets it now.
