I did not know this, thanks for bringing it up! I like him and I enjoy watching him! Anyone remember a couple of years ago when Dan Wheeler did a woman's clothing show? OMG, it was just pathetic, he has as much personality as a pencil does and always acts like every time is his first time, and he's been there 20 yrs or more!

I agree with OP and we have a right to our opinion, also, without accusations of bias. The optimal words are: Artists and professionals. The people that you mention have gone to school for and been trained in an art, much like going to FIT. Don't belittle their craft by equating them to a product host! They are not giddy, or clap their hands, shriek, and skip around like a child. They don't mispronounce the product line over and over again, they don't run in front of the camera, and say "beautiful" ad nauseam.

The vendors are the complete show with Alberti as a host because he has NO personal experience using their product. He cannot testify to anything. It's like a woman selling mens briefs! They can see it, they can feel the softness, but the fit is just hype and empty rhetoric for they have never experienced the product and cannot appreciate its qualities. If you like an Eskimo selling air conditioners, fine, that is your opinion.

I'm not sure if you criticizing Alberti or all shopping channel hosts.

Regarding your point that Alberti cannot sell cosmetics because he has no experience with the product is flawed. During last night's presentation, he stated he was wearing the IT CC cream. Men do wear cosmetics-particularly on TV. Fact is, you don't know for sure a woman selling cosmetics has ever worn the product she is selling.

He did a fine job and I look forward to seeing him more.

I don't watch QVC much and have yet to see this Alberti -- he must be amazing the way some of you rave about him. Now I'll be on the lookout!

That said, I've noticed some guy on HSN selling women's clothing, jewelry and even cosmetics. He does an excellent job and I probably wouldn't even notice a guy selling cosmetics on QVC. Why all the fuss?

Most of the great makeup artist are MEN----I say great that male host are jumping on the wagon. Alberti has makeup on himself.

This thread is got to be from the DARK AGES.......Lord no wonder Q lacks vibrant,and new things.....If a color was what I was looking for and it suited my routine I do not depend on any host to sell me. Q is headed in a good direction with a man hosting makeup----THOSE 2 ON IT HAVE ENOUGH JOY AND SMILES TO LAST ME A LIFETIME.

Q cannot go forward with new fun and not BLAND items without change.
