On 6/12/2014 bunny~ said:Bunny, if you are going to get both the Sweet Almond Mint and the Tea Tree, I would suggest getting A188267, which is a duo of those two in 16oz for $40 + 7.22 S&H. Separately, for 16oz they are each $29 + 6.22 S&H. This is the way I first tried WEN. It is a good place to start. Hopefully you can cancel your previous order and order this duo if you want to try both SAM and TT. Good Luck.On 6/12/2014 Angel1948 said: bunny, I'm nearly 66 and my hair is getting thinner , especially in the crown area, have you considered Tea Tree, it's great for thinning hair. I've started using Tea Tree oil about 4 times a week as an over night treatment to see if that helps also. I've been going through menopause since I was 37, didn't really effect my hair until the last few years though. Good luck with what ever you decide.I thought about Tea Tree as I love other products with the Tea scent. Thanks for posting about your experience with it and thinning hair due to menopause. It scares me a little to be thinning on my crown and on the right side of my head too.
Maybe I should try that too along with the Sweet Almond Mint that I just ordered? I think I will...Thanks again.

I use Tea Tree almost every time I cleanse but the scent, for me, took some getting used to. I love the benefits of the Tea tree and my scalp a d hair have never been better! I would suggest going to your closest health food store and smelling the Tea Tree there. But most people get used to it fairly quick! Also if you haven't made your purchase yet, there is a 2 piece Sweet Almond, Tea Tree set for $40 available on the Q site. It's probably one of the best deals out there. On 6/12/2014 Angel1948 said: bunny, I'm nearly 66 and my hair is getting thinner , especially in the crown area, have you considered Tea Tree, it's great for thinning hair. I agree with Bethany... your order probably still says "in process" and you could cancel it. I personally would start with that great deal on the Sweet Almond Mint and Tea Tree- or, even better: buy a variety pack with the 6 ounce bottles. Just my 2 cents.

Back to what the OP was asking...Bunny, I've used Wen exclusively for over 2 years now and it does not clog pores or pipes. Not to dismiss anyone's claims to the contrary, all I can do is share my own experience... I have KP, which are those bumps on your upper arms--The Wen lotions/cleansing creme make that disappear with no harsh chemicals or acids. They, as well as the cleansing conditioners, are moisturizing and do not block my pores or cause breakouts.
Since I first started using Wen, my hair has grown longer, thicker and healthier than ever--and the Wen body products have kept my skin clear and blemish-free. I'm not trying to sell this as a miracle cure-all, just stating that this all-natural approach to hair and skincare has helped me tremendously with my own hair and skin issues. Yes it's expensive, but so were all the other treatments I tried that didn't work--whether it was for hair or skin. And now, I've stopped using any other face moisturizer, and stick solely to Wen.
I haven't had any clogged pipes because of Wen. We're on septic so when we did have an issue, they found it to be from years of debris and the wrong type TP for septic(who knew?!). I cleanse a couple of times a week, and use the body cleansing creme/lotion daily as well, and haven't had any issues since we stopped using the now-forbidden brand of TP.lol
Totally agree about using baking soda and hot water to clear your pipes as well--We were recommended that by the plumber. Those chemical drain uncloggers are the *worst* thing for septic, so we're sticking with all-natural.
Hope that makes you feel better. ![]()

Thank you all so much for the good advice. I really do appreciate it.
Sharing your experiences puts my mind at ease with the plumbing issue.
And thanks to jb20, BethanyB, and RiosMom. I was able to change my order to the Tea Tree and Sweet Almond duo! I can't wait to try it.

Waving hi to croemer!!! Miss you my old friend!
I've been working so I don't have time to post too much any longer.
Thank you for the suggestion of using it as a conditioner in case it weighs my hair down.
It helps to get others opinions on products. Nothing is ever a one size fits all.

Bunny, best of luck with Wen, that Tea Tree and Sweet Almond Mint duo is a great place to start.......it was one of my first Wen purchases (years ago).
I've used Wen on and off for several years, but have used it exclusively for the past 2 + years. My hair is in the best condition ever! I'm not even tempted to try anything else because I've found a system that WORKS!!
It seems that your biggest concern is possible damage to your plumbing. I use Wen at three different locations, all with septic systems. Two have hard "well" water, one is is water supplied by the local town. I have NEVER had an issue with clogged drains/pipes due to Wen. One house has older plumbing, and we've always had issues with one shower drain, regardless of the products we use (even before I used Wen). I simply pour baking soda and vinegar down it occasionally, then follow that with a pot of boiling water. Easy peasy to keep it clear, with no damage to the septic system.
Glad you've made the decision to give Wen a try, come back if you have any questions regarding the usage of the product itself. The posters here are very helpful and knowledgable about Wen.
(I skimmed over the previous posts, know that some weren't the friendliest........As others have said, people can get a little defensive when people try to "stir the pot" and post negative things about Wen/Chaz Dean/Wen users. It always happens when Chaz is on for a TSV or during the June gallon presentations.) Sorry you didn't get the warmest welcome :-(
