Then I wouldn't do it if I were you. It's no different than any deep treatment. The oils happen to keep the scalp healthy if you massage them in. There are no rules about keeping them in overnight if it freaks you out.

Many folks use coconut oil as a deep condish overnight. It won't hurt your hair one bit. In fact it helps many of us!

Do what you're comfortable doing whether it's with Wen oils or any other product.

terrier3, I think that your observation about WEN can be said about many, if not all, successful personal care product lines. A skin care company will come out with a "basic" routine, say, cleanser, SPF, moisturizer and be touting they're simplifying your routine, or multi-tasking. It's great, it works for a lot of people and becomes a huge seller. Then what happens? The very customers that flocked to the products to begin with are begging for an exfoliator, a night cream, a mask, etc. and the company starts making them to appease their clients. And soon the very customer that started using the line because of its simplicity is now using 19 different specialized products--just exactly what she said she didn't want!

As far as recommendations/opinions on different formulas, again, I think you can use the skin care analogy. If you and I both have oily skin, the products that work for me might not work for you. But I can only vouch for what works for me, right? And since it works for me, I will probably think what works for me should be the holy grail for everyone. If I have an allergy or sensitivity to a certain ingredient in a WEN product, I might love the idea of WEN but cannot use it because of that ingredient, hence some of the different formulations. Chaz will often state that many of his ancillary products have come about because of the customer demand (like mousse).

I can understand your frustration since the only way to determine whether a product is compatible with your needs is to try it. Which becomes time consuming, frustrating (if you don't find the right product right away), and expensive. What I have to remember when listening to all the presentations is I DON'T HAVE to use every single product presented. Chaz will recommend those he feels are core, but even then, that doesn't necessarily mean I have to use them if they don't work for me (or if I can't afford them, or even if I just don't want to!).

Personally, I do use WEN and have found the products within the line I like and tend not to experiment. Many people love to experiment and use many different formulations. I don't. That clutters up my mind. Just like most women like to have different types of clothes. I don't. I tend to wear the same basic things and am happy with that.

I think you just have to sort through all the "noise" sometimes and listen to yourself, with WEN and with just about everything else.
