Re: Is Philosophy's Microdelivery Wash worth it?

The best product you can use for clogged pores is salicylic acid. Try Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Stress Control Triple-Action Toner. Also, use a face mask like Clean & Clear blackhead eraser cleansing mask (it draws out trapped dirt & oil and loosens blackheads).

Re: Is Philosophy's Microdelivery Wash worth it?

I love philosophy but this is one product I'm neutral about. The scrubbies are so tiny and somewhat sparse that I wonder if it is actually doing anything. It doesn't have a scent or fragrance but I don't like the un-fragrance if that makes any sense at all.

I think your best bet for clogged pores is the Stridex non-alcohol pads. Cheap, quick, effective, easy to find. They are 2% salicylic acid, a beta hydroxy acid, which cleans out the INSIDE of pores. As with any skincare, no overnight miracles.

It dried my skin out so it is not for every skin type like they claim. Over priced. You can do a lot better for less.

Do you know of a cheaper alternative? The price is what's holding me back so if I can find something better that is cheaper it would be great.

Another OP said it best ... salicylic acid. If your issue is clogged pores, you have to use either an AHA or BHA product to loosen the glue or gunk out of the pore. The Microdelivery product is great for exfoliating, but you just need to add an AHA like Serious Skincare Glycolic Cleanser to your regimen or Paulas Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel. Hope that helps.

One of my a.m. must haves. I have it on a tsv a/d and I get it from philosophy's website using 40% off coupons (get emails for offers). I dont have enlarged or clogged pore. I use it as an exfoliator.

Yes. alba Botanica Hawaiian facial scrub. I use once a week, makes my skin glow when I rinse off. Under $10.

Ladybug, I agree with the people who are recommending you use Salicylic Acid or Glycolic Acid for exfoliating, if you have clogged pores.

Since you are asking for opinions, I do not think that philosophy's Microdelivery Wash is worth it, or that it will even deliver what you seem to want. Unclog pores, that is. Plus, the diatomaceous earth which philosophy uses - that's the grainy stuff which abrades the skin - may not suit your skin. I have super sensitive skin, and it most certainly did not suit me. I threw out the bottle after one use, back when I was still ignorant and searching for solutions for my own skin issues.

Try Alpha Hydrox Glycolic acid (gel or cream), or Paula's Choice (call their customer service - they will point you to the correct BHA or AHA products for your needs).

OP, I also have combo/oily skin and pore issues. The best thing I use, which is amazing. is Paula's Choice 2% BHA gel. A beta hydroxyl acid cleans the inside of the pores and helps them shrink back to a normal size. You can call PC & ask for some samples of BHA. The Customer Service is very helpful and responsive. There are many posters on the BB whoo use products from PC.

An AHA - alpha hydroxyl acid - only works on the surface of the skin. If you have clogged pores, you need a BHA.

Good luck! Smiley Happy
