Interesting observation of make up - Page 3

I haven't worn a full face in at least 25 years. I went to a little concealer, mascara, blush or pale bronzer, and eyebrow pencil, plus a one-shade pale pink lid.

I think a lot depends on where we live, our job, lifestyle, and certainly what image we need and/or want to project, what our goals and ambitions are.

Our makeup, clothing and grooming is sending a message to the world. It in a great part is statement about who we are, or who we think we are.

I have noticed for years that some women wear very little makeup. However, it has always fascinated me and at the tender age of 11, I bought myself a red lipstick. I remember wearing it to Sunday Mass where I sung in the choir. All the girls begged me to tell them the shade. The following Sunday almost all the girls wore the same lipstick. Interestingly, Sister James didn't object.🤣

Back on topic. At 71, I still love lashes, 👄 lipstick and blush. What other women do or don't do has never changed my mind.

I wear make up every day. I use concealer, powder, eyeliner pencil, eye brow stick and bright red lipstick. I have small features and I look pale with teeny, tiny, little eyes. So, I use make up because it makes me feel more confident.

If I leave my house I have on a full face of makeup which takes me about 15 minutes simply because I have extremely light eyebrows and lashes and was blessed with rosacea and when leaving my home I prefer to always look my best.

I found it interesting...looks like I'm not the only one who does not have hours to sit in front of a mirror painting up!

I'm retired now, but I never went to work without makeup. I won't go to town without at least a blush, mascara, and something on my lips. For me, it's part of looking my best for myself but it also was a show respect for my employer whom I represented, that I looked my best. That's doesnt mean over the top glam, but a tasteful look. Even when I do a full makeup look, I'm not in front of the mirror for hours. It might take me 10-15 minutes, so I'm not understanding your last line. I think you're exaggerating.

I wear makeup every day - every day! Sometimes I wish I didn't have to.

When I go to conferences, workshops, etc. I often sit with some people I've never met before. Most wear makeup. There are some who don't. In fact about 2 years ago someone asked what foundation I was wearing. It was Ilia, and she took out her phone and ordered it.

I find that very interesting and surprising. I just figured that women were still wearing pretty much full face to work. I guess not. I know several years ago when I was still working, most of the women where I worked wore makeup. I mean, you could tell it was pretty much at least eye makeup and lipstick, if nothing else. Some wore foundation and blush or bronzer, also. I always wore foundation, powder, occasionally blush and highlighter, mascara, eye liner, at times eye shadow and, of course, lipstick or gloss. I just felt more polished with it.

@bmorechick I don't spend hours in front of the mirror. 20 mins at best, and I'm made up and happy. I love putting on make up. I find it very creative and fun. I also prefer the way I look with it on, so it's a win win for me.

When I go into the office it's a split between women with no make up at all, the very basics so you almost don't know, and made up. The times the women who never wear make up had some on, to me, they looked more finished. It's all a matter of personal preference and what works for each of us.

I personally don't wear foundation, but everything else is a go for me. LOVE IT.

Very interesting observation, and a creative way to make the time pass.

Interestingly enough, most women where I work do not wear makeup, not even gloss. I work a t aFortune 500 company and our building has roughly 500 people, and most do not wear anything.

I wear makeup to work every day-not a lot but I do wear Foundation, blush, concealer, brows and mascara and lips.

On the Weekends I give my face a break and wear gloss only, unless going somewhere special.

I enjoy makeup-always have since I was 12......I love experimenting and trying new things, especialyl foundations and lippies.

It was interesting to me that a lot of the younger women here at work don't wear nything, but I bet a lot of them do on the weekends when they are going somewhere special.....
