Personally I have know idea what he used to say because I'm new to using Wen. I only cleanse one time and then I rinse and rinse like for a good 10 minutes it seems. Some days my hair looks pretty good, and other days it looks horrible. On the horrible days it is flat against my head and I can't stand how it looks. But yet I rinse and rinse and rinse and even rinse more. None of it makes much sense to me. I have never ever left any amount in my hair as a "leave in conditioner", that would not work for me other than to make my hair look worse.

I just recently started using the TT oil, I think I like it. I'm not seeing any amazing changes yet so not sure if I'll be purchasing more. I've only had it now about 6 days. Guess time will tell whether or not I keep using Wen, I'm just not convinced yet that it's helping me. My hair is very very thin.

I do see that my hair has indeed gotten longer but I would rather just see it get thicker. The length isn't anything I care so much about. Short hair is fine with me. I just need thicker hair.

gulf coast girl, rinsing 10 minutes is too long. There's no need to do that to get WEN completely out of your hair. I found doing one cleanse with the entire amount did take longer to rinse. Dividing it in half and doing 2 cleanses means less on your hair each time and makes it easier to rinse out.

As you are working the cc into your hair and scalp, add enough water until the cc changes consistency - it should have a soft frothy feel instead of the creamy feel when it comes out of the bottle. Chaz has even said to quickly duck your head back under the shower, so it may take more water than you think to get it frothy.

I started using WEN when it first came to QVC and I was doing one cleanse. It worked so well I never went back to shampoo, but WEN was a new innovative product and, like all new products, there is tweaking along the way that add benefits. One of these was the double cleanse. It makes sense - the first cleanse gets all the product and dirt off your hair and, instead of all of that sitting on your hair for a few minutes, it's better to rinse that out, then it leaves your hair ready to better accept the conditioning step of the second cleanse. It also allows you to concentrate on your scalp on the first cleanse, rinse your scalp well, then on the second cleanse, you don't really need to work it into your scalp again, just your hair.

Leave in is just for your "ponytail" section - your ends, never get it on your scalp. It may sound like you need to do the opposite, but putting back a pea size of the cc as a leave in on just your ends adds moisture back to your hair which plumps it up and seals the cuticle.

Do try doing 2 cleanses - it won't hurt your hair and you might be surprised at the difference it makes.

Re: In the beginning when Chaz explained Wen........

We had another thread about this not too long ago. I seem to remember the change coming about the same time as the oils. When the oils were introduced, it was recommended that you do a double cleanse. What I found and what others found was that they had the best hair ever on those days, so it wasn't a drastic leap to do a double cleanse every time for good results.

Most times when I cleanse I do a double, but if I am in a hurry or if I am doing a remoist overnight treatment, I do a single cleanse.

Everyone's hair is different, everyone's hair reacts differently to the different formulas (and some say even the different scents in the same formula). We all live in different climates, have different water systems. There are so many variables that it is hard to have a "rule" about what will work for everyone.

For me, I just read every thread on this subject and kept picking up tips and ideas (still do!) and it just gets better and better with every tweak.

I live in a drought area too. I use WEN and only need to cleanse my hair every other day and I only need to rinse for one or two minutes. Last month, our water usage was 46% less than the same month last year. I took the opportunity to only shower every other day, too.

I've always been conscientious about water usage and I don't take any longer in my shower with WEN did I did before WEN- my whole shower is max 10 minutes, even with shaving, brushing my teeth and washing my face. I never understand these comments about taking all this extra time rinsing rinsing rinsing. One to two minutes at max should be sufficient. If not, then perhaps that formula isn't right for your hair.

Re: In the beginning when Chaz explained Wen........

Thanks okiebug, yes as I stated I only do one cleanse, but that's because I feel I can't afford to go through so much product, it's not that cheap. So I cleanse every other day. And my hair is short, right now the back of it is only at my shoulders, by my ears you can still see half my ear, I have no bangs cause I'm just trying to get it all to grow. I will try doing a second cleanse, and splitting the amount I use in between the 2 times, that makes sense to me, I thought I was supposed to use 6 pumps each time. So I'll try 3 or 4 first time then do it again. Thanks for your help. Also to add yes that would make it easier to rinse out. I don't have enough hair for a ponytail, not at all. LOL

And I do plan on continuing using up all the wen I have purchased before deciding if it's right for me. I love the TT CC, I'm not crazy about the SHP and I love how 613 smells and leaves my hair looking, but some days it seems kind of blah, but other than that I'm happy with Wen.

jurby if you could work on your delivery maybe then I wouldn't think you're so grouchy. I'm sure in your way you want to help another but lighten up a little.

Since you have shorter hair, maybe a lighter formula might work better for you--like Cucumber Aloe or Bamboo Green Tea?
