In between coloring??

I have to color my hair every four weeks.

After the second week my grays are really showing bad!

I have gone to Sally's Beauty Supply and tried a couple of there coloring sticks, and

another one that looks like a mascara. They just look so fake on my roots, or they just don't cover. My hair is between a light brown and dark brown.

What do you'll do in between coloring?
