I wore false eyelashes for the first time...

[ Edited ]

I actually wore eyelashes the other day and was very pleased with the results.  I wore some that were very "natural" looking and I put a light coat of mascara over them.

I was pleasantly surprised how good they looked and how fast and easy to apply.  For me, it's much quicker to apply lashes than it is for mascara.  They lasted all day and I plan on wearing them again.

I decided to try them after reading @monicakm 's posts.  Smiley Happy

I would love to try.  What glue do you recommend?

@San Antonio Gal   What fun!  Could you supply us with the details....what brand, how did you apply?

@monicakm  - I purchased these years ago and never used them.   What is your favorite brand?

@phoenixbrd  @Suneshine  -  I'm hoping @monicakm will tell us what the best brand to purchase.  Also - what glue is best?

Mine came with the glue.  To apply - put glue on the band and wait a few seconds for the glue to get "gummy".  Then with a close up mirror- apply with fingers and adjust.

I applied eyeliner before applying lashes.  Then put a little eyeliner over the band after it was dry.  Then I applied a light coat of mascara.

I have worn mascara in the past, mostly Maybelline. Do false eyelashes work better than mascara? Isn't there a chance the glue could get in your eyes and irritate them? I don't think I'm going that route myself.

I wish I had the nerve and know how.  With my luck, I'd be someplace and one would come off.  That actually happened to a friend of mine when she was someplace important! 😮😄

Re: I wore false eyelashes for the first time...

I like this thread, and am interested in any suggestions for best brands, glue, etc.

The last time I wore false eyelashes was when I sang in a band in the 80's! Wore them night after night. But I've been toying with the idea of trying them again, since I feel like my eyelashes, while still long, are less impactful then in younger days. And I'm sure the eyelash products have come a long way from the 80's.

It's overwhelming knowing where to begin in purchasing from all the choices out there now, so I just haven't... any tips here are appreciated!

@teganslaw  -  Eyelashes work better than mascara.  There's no smudging, etc with lashes and they last until you take them off.   There's no way the glue can get in your eyes.  It's not runny and when you apply it to the band, it sticks to the band.

Re: I wore false eyelashes for the first time...

This is an interesting topic.  I've never tried false eyelashes, but am interested in any brands and/or glue brands that others have used that is easy to apply.

By the way, do you just wash the glue off and re-use the lashes?  Or have some sort of way to get rid of the glue once you've used them?  Honestly, I have no idea.
