I take back what I said about Tea Tree CC

Consider this my public apology notice to the Wen TT world.

I am a Fig girl but bought TT as my second CC to try months ago and promptly hated it. I didn't get the hype and I didn't think it did anything for my coarse, unruly curls. It sat in my shower forever until the cold weather hit and my scalp got itchy. I finally listened to the suggestion to mix formulas and used TT as my first and then my Fig. I also used my TT oil which had also sat. Problem gone in two washes. My scalp likes me again. And the smell isn't as obnoxious as I once thought it was although it's still not flowers.

If I dissuaded anyone from TT a few months ago, I take it back. I'll definitely keep a bottle of it around although it won't be as big a bottle as my Fig. It definitely proved it's worth. I just had to wait for the seasons to change.

Re: I take back what I said about Tea Tree CC

I think that many of us use TT cleansing conditioner and the oil. I like the scent of TT but may be in the minority on this. Although, the oil is definitely very overpowering compared to SAM oil or the seasonal oils. I haven't tried all of the oils and not sure that I would like them. I mostly use seasonals as my 2nd cleanse and one of the core formulas as my 1st cleanse.

TT is the bomb. Bought my first ever gallon in TT in June Smiley Happy I use it for almost every first cleanse.

Hey Laura: welcome to the first cleanse TT club. I suspect now that you have found this routine, you will continue to use it even in the summer months. TT cleanser and oil are staples in my house. Interesting that you like the scent of Fig but weren't enamored with TT. I used Fig begrudgingly for the moisture -- eventually flipped to SAM which worked just as well for me with a better scent.

Glad you are happy!

Glad it's helped with the itchiness. I think the TT is the most under-rated of all the cc's.

While TT is not my favorite scent, I don't hate it either. It smells like pine tar to me, but the smell disipates especially because I mix it with other CC's. The fig, I cannot even stomach the smell of and mixing it doesn't get rid of the smell either - so I just abstain from the fig.

Laura, isn't it amazing what a difference a few months can make?

I'm glad it worked for you this time around.

Re: I take back what I said about Tea Tree CC

I recently added the TT oil & the CC for winter use since I get the whole winter itchy/dry scalp issue....I haven't used the CC yet but I do LOVE the oil!! (surprisingly I like the scent!)

It will be nice to add this as a 1st cleanse or mix it with one of my other CC's.

Glad it working out for you!

I love these two together. I often use Tea Tree on my scalp and Fig on the rest.

I have to use the TT as a first cleanse because I don't want that smell lingering, but I do like the performance.

I actually enjoy the scent of the TT oil, especially when I have a sinus headache! It also seems to be the best for my hair, though I like all the ones I've used so far.

Fig is a staple for me. I hate the scent. I held my breath when I used it. The scent slowly grew on me.

I love the smell of the TT CC.
