I sure wouldn't "knock" E.L.F.    The company was founded by Joseph Shama and Scott Vincent Borba.

@monicakm    Well yeah...I'm sure what I just grabbed looks just like something I already have 🤦🏻‍♀️... oh well, it's a stick that I like to carry with me to smear when needed. and yep, I grabbed a pink one and I think maybe the other one was a deep mauve. And with the more gloss like products, they are less likely to show a lip mistake done without a mirror - which is me 90% of the time.

And, with this brutal cold we've been having (high of 29 today) my lips got chapped in 2 days, so my lips need "protection" ha!

We've had 3 blizzards and -14 to 9 degrees for 2 weeks. It got up to 30 yesterday I shoveled without a coat.

Today it's supposed to be 39, balmy for us in Dec, and people will be out like it's July.

I can totally relate. I buy the exact item I already have.

I made some rules for myself.

1. I must think about purchase for at least a few hours

2.  Must look to see if I already have it---in closets in drawers,

'cabinets

3. Show it to dh --he is BRUTAL re my shopping, even cleaning products. He says there is no room, I buy too much.

I, of course, don't listen to him. I do consider what he's saying.

My shopping issue isn't $  it's space--I live in 1000 square apartment in NYC.

@bmorechick would feel right at home in my house. We get an occasional lizard in our house. We have lizards on the ceiling of our porch and Patio in warm weather does anyone remember the Taco Bell commercial that said, "here lizard lizard lizard".

Oh no, you didn’t show me those!

I’ve also got way too many lippies of every kind and desperately need to purge....but it’s so hard.

I’ll set aside time and tell myself I have to get rid of some, pull everything out, try them all on… and then decide they look good even though I never wear a lot of them and then just can’t part with them. Ugh! Big problem....Woman LOL

A lot of lip products I've purchased in the past were because I was still looking for that PERFECT SHADE.

Can anyone relate?

Well, I found it, purchased several, and now all I buy are the occasional three-pack of Chapstick lip balms when new flavors/scents come out.

That's it, I'm done.

For now.

Have you tried the Cotton Candy chapstick? It's my all time favorite!

I won't.  Before I switched to Burt's Bees' tinted balms, I used a lot of e.l.f. lip products.  The first time I ever bought a lip product that was a flattering shade! Woman LOL

All the colors worked for me.  And they were affordable.

What do you have against glosses, @FancyPhillyshopper?
I love and purchase high-end makeup exclusively. Years ago I discovered gotta glow elf perfect pink lip tint. I wear it under ALL my spendy lip glosses, my favorite being Guerlain.
I don't care for lipsticks. They are too opaque for me and for the most part, drying. Glosses give your lips the appearance of fullness because of the light reflecting properties. The reason I wear the Elf lip tint underneath my glosses is so that I still have color on my lips when the gloss has worn off and before I get around to reapply it. The Elf lip tint is a stain. I have hoarded enough of the Elf lip tint to most likely last till I die. I have about 90 lip glosses. Last time I tried to declutter them, I was able to let ONE go 😜 of all my expensive makeup, and it's insane, if I could only keep one item it would be the elf gotta glow perfect pink lip tint.

I never wear lipstick - like never.  I guess I did put some on when our son got married in 2021.  I never liked that it would get on your mugs and drinking glasses.  And it would just disappear - like did I eat it? - and then you have to put it on again.

I recently got a Laura Geller make up kit.  I love the foundation and eye liner.  No idea what I am going to do with the lipstick that was included, lol.
