I don't know why I did this but I purchased the OUAI shampoo for fine hair.  It worked so well the first two times.  Now it does not give any results but also dries my hair.  I am contacting Nordstrom about this product.  Never again my hair feels like straw.  I am learning not to write a review after one or two tries of a product because what this product is doing now is absolutely horrible and I will be contacting the manufacturer too.

@Katcat1  Nordstrom is good about returns if you're not happy with a product. You should contact the company who makes the shampoo to register your complaint. Some volumizing shampoos and styling products use alcohol and can be drying if using regularly. That may result  in the feeling of 'straw" you're describing.

if it worked good the first couple of times, but not so much afterwards ... i would have put it into my rotation.  i rarely use the same product two days in a row and it seems to work for my hair.  maybe not for everyone, but for me it works.

I do the same thing @fancy pantsy . I rotate between a hydrating S&C and a volumizing S&C and a clarifying one once a month. I do the same with my styling gels/mousse.

Re: I have learned my lesson............

I bought Beekman Brothers shampoo and conditioner after great reviews and some really good presentations.  It did not work for me at all but it never occurred to me to return it any more than I would return a cheaper shampoo from a drug store if I didn't like it.  Every beauty product doesn't work for everyone, it's called trial and error.  I too rotate hair products and boy do I have a selection to choose from.

The gal that does my hair has been doing hair for over 30 years, she said what she has learned over the years is to treat the hair with your shampoo/cond or whatever your shower preference is - If you have dry hair use a good product for dry hair, if you color be sure to use one for color and so on.... THEN use styling products for the volume, she said volumizing products tend to dry the hair out as long as you cleanse a few times a week to get the "products" off your hair and scalp just focus on styling products for your volume and always use a shampoo/cond. that will add moisture if that is what your hair needs.

Re: I have learned my lesson............

@Sooner   Someone is this forum complained that it dried her hair.  I bought the shampoo for my BFF and she said it did nothing for her hair.  I always alternate between different shampoos and I had not used this particular shampoo for 2-1/2 weeks.   It's a bomb and I bet there are plenty of women experiencing problems too.

@Katcat1  I'm sorry to hear this as I just purchased from Ulta two bottles of their Detox Shampoo and hope I don't find the same thing happen to my daughter or me.  Both of us have a good bit of oil in our hair but I don't need it to be super drying.

Re: I have learned my lesson............

@Mumof2   I   was so excited when I used it the first time but it was downhill from there.  I can't speak for the Detox.  If it doesn't work out rinse your hair in apple cider vinegar and water -- 1/2 cup of each.  Then rinse again with clear water.

Re: I have learned my lesson............

@Katcat1 If you remember in another post, we talked about Ouai Shampoo. I used the med. next level & I found it not to be drying but could not tolerate the scent so I returned it. I also thought it gave my hair volume. So it could be that the fine hair version was more drying. I didn't use it long enough to really give it a good review but I also used the Ouai conditioner after the Shampoo so that could be the difference.

Re: I have learned my lesson............

@Kabella   I contacted OUAI and they returned my email offering me a few products but I don't want to try any more products by them.  I will be using my Phyto moisturizing shampoo to get my hair in order.
