What's wrong with tapping one's shoulder @Lucky Dog ?

Not by someone I do not know.

I guess it depends on the part of the country you live in and the approachability of the person.  Tap or touch, not sure which I did, but it's so strange that anyone would find a problem with that.  She certainly didn't.  I've never been shot, pepper sprayed or cursed because I touched someone's shoulder.  She was such a lovely and kind looking woman.  Not everyone I strike up a conversation with is.  Everyone deserves kindess and appreciates a kind word.  Many years ago I was standing at the checkout line in WM and got a phone call telling me a dear friend had died.  I tried not to cry in public but the tears came anyway.  One woman reached out and took me by the arm asking what she could do to help.  Then another woman stepped up doing the same.  Between the 3 of us, we got my groceries checked out and they walked to the car with me, making sure I was good to drive.  Thank God for people who aren't afraid to reach out.

Funny you should mention that.  I got this from my husband 3 days ago but didn't see it till last night.  A blessing for sure.

I just do not want to be tapped/touched by a stranger. I don't care how nice they appear to look.

Oh @lynnie61, yes, I always let parents of well behaved children know what a good job they're doing with their children.  And I like complimenting young girls on their bow or shoes, etc.

It came back to me 3 fold @weez1987.  My husband sent me a post from Instagram that I didn't see till last night.  Made me want to marry him all over again Smiley Happy

How sweet @shoekitty  I get out and about so little now that I don't get as many opportunities to compliment others.  I'll make it a priority to double up (g)

I think we must know the same person.  I'm not friends with her anymore.  She got really really mad when my knee surgeon turned out to be her son's ex-wife's new husband Smiley Surprised  Just wow!  Shame on me! 🙄

Thank you @spiderw.  My mother was the same way.  When I was younger, it used to embarrass me when she did that, even tho it was always met with appreciation.  She was so sweet.  I miss her so much.
