How to uncurl corner lashes that curl naturally and then clump with mascara?

For whatever reason my corner lashes curl up and then clump up with mascara. I just wake up like that and it doens't always happen. I wear a sleep mask with room for lashes. It's a disaster once I apply mascara as they clump together and look stumpy. . Has anyone else experienced this and found a way to straighten them? TIA ladies.

Have you tried using a lash comb before applying mascara?

@Glorimar @Caffeina

I always sleep on my left side: the lashes on the pillow side are permanently " tightly curled. "

When I apply mascara on that spot, I  hold the wand vertically and move it up once on those lashes.  If it appears too thick, I use a spare clean mascara wand and move it up those clumpy end lashes to remove excess.

It takes some practice so don't try it just before you need to go out.   If you do this very carefully in front of a large magnifying mirror, you should not have any smears.

@jlkz I have not done that and will give it a try! Great idea and thank you.

@Caffeina  I have and it doesn't do much to separate them.

Re: How to uncurl corner lashes that curl naturally and then clump with mascara?

@Glorimar   My entire lash line curls up tightly.  So much so that without eye makeup I look like I have on eyeliner, but no eyelashes.

I apply mascara normally.  Then I put two applications of the mascara on the back side of my lashes by uncurling them from my lid.  This makes them stretch out a bit, and they uncurl just enough to see them beautifully.

Of course, this means I have mascara on my eyelids now.  So I use those pointy "Q-tips" to wipe off all the extra mascara that got on my lids.

Sounds like a lot, but I've been doing it so long that I've got it down to a very quick rhythm. Smiley Very Happy

I often marvel when women have to use eyelash curlers to get curl, and I have the exact opposite lashes.

Maybe try a heated curling wand and use it as a straightener instead of a curler. I never tried that but it just came to mind when I saw one presented recently.
