@smoochy  - When wearing foundation - long wearing or not - I always do a double cleanse.  First I use a cleansing balm - usually Banilla & Co Clean It Zero in the pink jar or some use a cleansing oil such as Palmers.  Banilla & Co can be purchased at ULTA or Amazon.  Palmer's I've only purchased from Amazon.  DHC also has a cleansing oil.  There are lots of cleansing balms and cleansing oils out there, these are just suggestions for you of ones that I have tried.  I found cleansing oils to be too messy for me so prefer a cleansing balm but both are good, it's just depends on your personal preference.  I'm sure you will get lots of other recommendations.  After this first cleanse, I follow up with my regular cleanser.

Hope this helps!

@smoochy - I suggest a doing a double cleanse.  First choose a cleansing balm or cleansing oil.  Apply to dry skin and massage around, then add a splash of water and continue to massage.  Rinse.  Follow up with your usual PM cleanser.  Some may feel the balm or oil is enough and they don't do the second cleanse.  You can decide.  I've used these for many years.

I use a makeup remover wipe first and then a foaming face cleanser.

Look for 'oil-based cleansers'. Then after you cleanse with an oil-based cleanser, cleanse again using a regular type face cleanser to remove any residual product left from the oil-based cleanser.

Biphase type micellar water is another option. But you still need to do a second cleanse with that one, too.

@smoochy    Try your usual facial cleansing method first.  It may be enough.

If you think you still have residue, I'd start with micellar water on a cotton ball or cosmetic pad.  Then my usual metho--soap or foaming facial cleanser and water.
