Re: How should I work this in?

Less is more. Too many products. Why not consult with your derm, assuming you got a prescription for your Retn A from one? Too many products are not a good thing.

May I ask why you don't apply it all over?

Hi @Texasmouse

@I do not apply the retin-a all over due to 1) sensitivity 2) a type of rash that is scaly and needs a different treatment.

Also, I am not sure that retina-a did this, but my eye brows have lost hairs and I had read somewhere that retin-a could be the cause of it.

Retin-a has not helped a breakout area on the chin either (rosacea prone). What a mix!

@LTT1

I hope you've found a good combination of products and that they're working for you!

I was almost disappointed when my derm prescribed the lowest dose of Retin A, thinking it was going to take longer to see results but, having read your post, as well as some older posts on this board, it appears anti-aging benefits can be derived from the dose I'm using and some even said that the 0.025% strength is actually the one that gives the best anti-aging results!  I don't know if that's true but it made me feel better and not so much in a hurry to bump up the dosage. Re: How should I work this in?

Here's something I've been wondering about...

Is is necessary for Retin-A  to make you peel for it's anti-aging affect?  I've read some articles stating both yes and no. Maybe someone here can shed some light.Woman Happy

Re: How should I work this in?

My derm told me that there would be no problem using Vitamin C in the AM and then use the Retin A at night. Have been doing this for a very long time and have had no problems at all.

Re: How should I work this in?

@Texasmouse, I know this may sound pricey but I love C Firma by Drunk Elephant. It is $80 but you only need to use it every 3 days. It really does last quite awhile using it that way. It gets very good reviews. My skin is dry and this doesn't dry me out. In the past I used Paula's Choice but I think some of the product becomes exposed to the air by taking the dropper out of the bottle. C Firma has a twist up top and nothing is exposed to the air.

Yes, I wish they would rethink the dropper-type dipensers for vitamin c serums.  They would last so much longer if they weren't constantly exposed to air!

Re: How should I work this in?

@SilleeMee
My derm got on board with th use of retin-a early in the game.
He told me to make sure my skin was very dry from evening cleanse before using.
Renova was/is .025% and the base is a cream that must be very hydrating.
When I was first Rx 'd retin-a, it was because a small keratosis under my eye returned after cryogenic treatment. The retin-a prevents the growth.
