I've been going to the same place for over 20 years, its just a small salon in my small home town. Since I have long hair they always chage an extra $10 for extra time which has always been fine.
They have online booking, I went to book my appt today and all the prices have been raised. Haircut is now 75.00 and the extra charge for long hair is now 20.00 so, 95.00 before tip!! So glad I don't have gray hair yet so I don't color buy OH MY 95.00 plus tax and tip will be well over 115-120 just to get my haircut.
I did not book yet, I need to think this over, on a fixed income this is just too much. I looked at prices elsewhere and they seem to have all gone up. I didn't mind paying 65ish but this 95++ feels like its too much.
I'm curious, what do you all pay for a cut?
I wanted to add, my hair is long, its just a basic trimming of the ends and keeping a little framing around the face area, nothing fancy or hard, shoot I've even thought about asking my husband do to the trim and I can do the framing. LOL

It's difficult to keep any B&M business going, but in SoCal even a small square footage shop can be very costly.
My long time stylist went from $40 to $75 for a cut, NO blow dry. I tried a friend's hairdresser and was charged $35.
I wash my hair and go to the salon with it clipped and still damp. No blow out.
There's a business here called Drybar that gives "premium blow dry styling". Washing yoru hair costs extra. A couple years ago, it was $45 just for the blowout! I never went, but noticed that it's a franchise.
Today I looked at their website and their blowouts are now $55 to $70! They have other services and many products for sale.
Suggestion .... look for another stylist and call for prices. Ask friends for refererals and see who they recommend.
Maybe you need to go to a salon a bit farther away, but I'd never pay $100 for just a "trim".
